Patriotism is described in wiktionary as Love of country; devotion to the welfare of one's compatriots; the virtues and actions of a patriot; the passion which inspires one to serve one's country,

But what is patriotism in the context of a virtual world. Was there someday when they imported all the 1’s and 0’s that comprises RL Ireland into eRepublik. Are we others that don’t come from this massive blob of data perhaps lost. Should we return to our own peculiar blobs of data. All Croatians to blob 1010101010 that comprises 5 million terabyte of data.

Oh wait we cry never forget the e one doesn’t get patriotism as ones Country doesn’t exist one’s eCountry however do. And in this eCountry there was never a questionnaire or constant pop ups that asked from what country are you in RL. Identifying your RL country is done by your IP address so why was there no WARNING : that would perhaps say.

WARNING: YOU HAVE INDICATED THAT YOU WANTED TO JOIN Eireland YET YOU DON’T COME FROM IRELAND . WE ARE NOT GOING TO RESPECT YOUR CHOICES YOU ARE NOW REDIRECTED TO ECROATIA AND MAY ONLY BECOME A CITIZEN OF THAT COUNTRY.

I mean the gall of it all to think that in RL people would go to other people’s country and after a few years make the decision to dedicate his whole life to his chosen country and then what is more he is seen as just as much a citizen of Ireland as me. Where did they come up with this. I mean our entire History we lifed in Ireland nobody moved here from another country because they would have to travel over our seas. Not very likely is it. I mean how long ago did they invent sailing and ships? We need to go further and now explore other countries lets look at South Africa for example that damn French Huguenots that travelled in 1752 to South Africa to avoid being killed and prosecuted they can never be South Africans I mean 261 years later shouldn’t they still be considered refugees. Should their families and descendants ever be accepted in our country.

Lets now take the Sotho’s their ancestors didn’t come from South Africa as well they moved from North of the border. They are nothing but immigrants. Oh wait the Khoe khoe the first animal herders they also moved from North of the Border.

Hell how are we going to determine who is a child of this country because clearly that is the one hidden requirement missing from the description of a patriot. Only the Khoi San is native to the land but the Khoe Khoe is also Khoi San. So how will I to the DNA level determine who the true owners of South Africa is.

Very neat very precise. If a person therefore of Croatia loves eIreland a country that he helped established and he shows a devotion to the welfare of his compatriots: What is he: wait for it he is a ePatriot.

Is a person that stole from our eCountry in the past a ePatriot. No the description clearly stated “shows a devotion to the welfare of his own compatriots.” Clearly stealing money is the opposite.

Lets look at 2 scenarios:

1 I move to another country and place an article to discredit my previous nation. Thereafter fights in battle after battle against my own eCountry. Therefore I am disloyal to my nation. Furthermore “one who takes arms and levies war against his own country” Also one who aids an enemy in conquering his country.

Does this sound familiar . I moved to another country and helped them conquer our own country. This can be testified by many people that saw the name MrConway in the list of enemy fighters as we lost region after region until our eCountry was conquered.
Scenario 2 a Fighter for strategic reasons fights for his enemies against another country. What is the net negative effect of this to his own country zero.

Who is the traitor?
