1.5 : Behind Enemy Lines

Day 2,045, 10:16 Published in USA USA by Ludonarr
Ludo brings the fight to the enemy.

Darkness is my friend, my ally, my constant companion.

Crouched next to a culvert, I hold my breath and pray to Dio the passing vehicles don't take notice of me. They pass, I exhale.

It's been nearly 5 hours since I crossed the border into enemy territory. A few weeks ago this was a dry mecca for our nation's sunbirds. Now a Taiwanese flag flies from every third of fourth building.

My mission is to infiltrate a transport hub and wreak as much havoc as possible. I crossed with my unit, I work alone.

Hefting my pack, I creep through the darkness, the lights of the base bright against the dark countryside. Hopping a fence, I pick up speed, trading stealth for speed in order to cross the open ground.

I hit the dirt as a foreign tongue cuts through the night. Not speaking Chinese, I keep my mouth closed. From the sound of it, my presence goes unnoticed.

Once the voices fade away, I resume my journey. I make for the fuel depot to place my present for the occupying forces. Crouching in the shadows, I know that this will be the tricky part. Crossing so much well lit open ground, the odds of me being seen are great. I tug my cap down tight, no one catches the motherf**king fox.

Silently I creep, staying tight against the buildings. Reaching my destination, I place my explosives and set them to blow. Before I can move, I hear movement behind me. I turn, only to be greeted by a blur of movement, a momentary pain, and darkness, my constant companion.
