Whose Interest Do You Fight For?
Viktor Lannister
Battle Orders after Battler Orders, many battle orders. Where exactly do you get your battle orders? Surely citizens have at some point thought why and whom are they fighting for?
Clearly, their is need for transparency within the parochial system of orders. So who exactly does the Military Units get their orders from? Well, many of you citizens believe that your orders come directly from your Military Unit Commanding Officer, OK...yes....probably...at some point. But think outside the box, beyond the military order you belong to. Is it Congress? Is it the President? Or is it the members of a minor party? Who really give the orders.
Citizens deserve and demand the right to know why and whom their fighting for. And to what end do these fight serve. What do these fight accomplish, and how do they serve and benefit the citizens.

we used to get explanations for orders but this was discontinued some time into BigAnt's terms...
Bring them back I say!
However, we mostly fight to help out TWO allies and CoT allies. Unless its direct for us (:
could ask your captain or commander, they usually get told by the MoD
if you were in the 9th regiment you might be in the know
Ask, and you shall receive.
When it comes to orders, there are two main sources, both of which appear on the eRepublik Home Page - The Campaign Of The Day, which is set by the elected Country President, and the Daily Orders, which are set by your Military Unit's Commander and elected Captains.
In order to maximise the nation's fighting effectiveness, however, the CP selected two people - myself, and Garth Lidlington - to act as Ministers of Defence, with an aim on improving military co-ordination, and as such we regularly recommend to Commanders and Captains where to set their orders. This is not every unit of the UK, since some prefer independence and the freedom to make their own decisions - which is great, as initiative is a very valuable trait - but those that do often follow these orders from the MoD.
When I select orders, I tend to favour our closest allies, as well as those were the fight will be the toughest. I sometimes receive requests for assistance directly from my counterparts and the Presidents of allied nations, so I set orders there when needed. And of course, battles directly involving the UK always get maximum priority.
I always welcome feedback about my decisions, and am happy to answer any questions about them - although bear in mind, the position of MoD will be changing hands following Tuesday's election.
😁^ what he said : D

I couldn't resist, sorry! I woke up in full, 'grammar nazi mode'. This is due to the fact that I also have a streaming cold, which will prevent me celebrating my birthday.
