Resignation of minister of foreign affairs

Day 1,924, 21:23 Published in Ireland United Kingdom by moomoohead

The story starts, when I was asked by Mike, to be MoFA for this month. Before the election I was listed as the only MoFA, after the election I was listed as co MoFA with Brian. I respect Brain and know he is capable of the job. I also know that you need clear roles and responsibilities in any postion, or people will step on each other’s feet. The first days of the month it was agreed with Mike and Brain, I would work on MPP and world reports. Brian would work on Alliances and an ambassador program.

The MoD told me what he was looking for in MPP’s and MoF stated the budget we had. I asked congress if anyone wanted to help, and two people said yes. I asked them to be deputy ministers and we started a mass PM. The PM is up to almost 100 posts, we discussed counties to sign with, best strategy for Ireland, and contacts made with many governments. Our team recommended signing with Columbia, Australia, and Iran to congress and explained our reasoning. These MPP's put us at war with Venezuela, Mexico, New Zeland, and Russia are all countries Ireland has never had many ties with. I also wrote articles as MoFA and have a few to be published.

So everything is going grand till today when I was informed by the “committee” they had negotiated and decided to sign an MPP with Bulgaria. I like Bulgaria and have always been pro CoT but Bulgaria is fighting Greece now. This MPP would have Ireland fighting an old friend. I explained my logic why I thought this was wrong to the “comettee”. I thought this was bad for several reasons but was only given the reason for doing this as “trust me”.

I cannot be in a government that fights Greece. Greece has been there for Ireland many times over the years. The Ireland I know does not attack its friends, especially for no reason. It is one thing to make these calls as part of an alliance, totally another thing to do this when you are independent. I have resigned as MoFA because I could never explain to my Greek friends how I was a part of a government that chooses to fight against them. I am urging congress vote down a Bulgarian MPP.

SHAME ON THE IRISH GOVERNMENT FOR FORGETTING OUR FRIENDS.
