[DoE] Political Parties: The AMP

Day 1,801, 13:04 Published in USA USA by Department of Citizen Affairs

Hello Readers,

In this edition of the DoE we will feature the AMP http://www.erepublik.com/en/party/american-military-party-2721/1 party.

I like the eagle!

As I write this the AMP have a total member count of 609. Their orientation is Center, Libertarian.

This is the AMP leadership minus their President, Cerb

So let us dive into an interview with their Party President, shall we? I will give little annotations along the way of my personal opinion but it is quite straight forward.

EnterAwesome will be Italicized,
Cerb will be Bolded
My annotations will be underline, don’t mind them though as they are pointless.

LETS BEGIN

Hi Cerb~! What Party are you the President of?
American Military Party

Why would a new player want to join the AMP?

We have no preconceptions as to what a player should or shouldn't do, who he/she should/shouldn't be friends with. You should join AMP if you have hopes and dreams for yourself and for the nation. We can help you make them a reality, and we won't waste any time.

AMP loves the idea of individual dreams and prides itself on it

The name of our party means that a lot of military enthusiasts probably self-select into the party, but there are plenty of RL civilians in here and it's more of a theme than any sort of requirement.

I know a lot of people in this party of every walks in life. You will always find someone relatable, as Cerb said don’t let the name discourage you

How long have you belonged to AMP?

I have been in the party for about 3 months, although I did a several-month stint in AMP a year ago, as well.

Oh yeah? What made you come back?

I think the AMP has the most transformative potential of any Party. It's relatively new, especially compared to the other parties, so its future isn't set in stone. It's exciting to be one piece of a puzzle that hasn't fully revealed itself yet.

Obviously it is hard to tell what the Party is going to transform into. It is already doing well, being ranked 1st in the Government's list of recognized Parties. But if you were to take a guess what does the future hold for the AMP short term and long term.

Well, the AMP started off as an oppositional response to the USWP, at a time when many of the eUSAforums admins were also USWP. It has since developed its own identity, but the desire to be independently successful is still a sticking point. It's definitely a benefit because it has taught us individual strength, but we need to be cognizant of the fact that cooperation with other parties is crucial to our combined success as a nation. Sometimes AMP lost sight of that, but I think we have learned from our experiences in that department. In fact, we sent over 100 of our members into the other parties last month to try and block AFA, and we ended up almost kicking ourselves out of the top 5! So yeah, I am very pleased and optimistic about AMP activity and ATO participation....

That is really impressive, it shows that you care.

To answer your questions more directly:

Short term- Expect to see more game nights and entertainment, as well as consistent MM contact with members. We're also battling the Feds in a friendly trivia night LIVE on eNPR on Oct 25th!

Long term- The AMP will continue to be one of the few parties that isn't really biased for/against particular MU's. We each have personal preferences and opinions but we co-exist and are all firm believers in the need for teamwork and success on the battlefield, since you know, it's the last module of the game that the admins haven't ruined yet.

So here is the last question.

Alright, you have given us a great understanding of what the AMP is about. What would you say as a shout out to all the new players out there who might be trying to figure out which party is the right one for them

All of the parties need active, hard-working players with a friendly attitude. Since this is ultimately a social simulator, the best advice I can give you is to hang out on IRC with members of various party members and see what sticks. Also, you should figure out why you're here....
I know this is being overly generic, but statistically speaking, if you want to be a politico/Congressman/Cabinet guy the USWP is your party.

Cerb also Suggests..

1) If you are interested in rising through the ranks in a military or militia, AMP is a great place for it.
2) If you want to get involved with citizen education and new player assistance, look to the Feds.
3) The WTP is almost brand new, so if you want to be on the ground floor of something, they're your party.
