Activity

There's a lot of people who are concerned with activity levels and are using this from both sides of the the "Brazil" Debate.
Activity has fallen significantly and it's not exclusive to South Africa.
It simply shows more because we are so small.
It is my belief that being under Brazil's rule is what truly hurts us as a country. There are many ways it affects us, some positive, but many negative.
The Positives:
(Story Time) After we were permabanned, Veschy, Marc and I took separate paths. I was too attached to eSA to leave so I started anew here.
They moved to North Korea, another small country, in which they were looking to become powerful, politicians. But when they got there they said that the country was horribly overrun by self-serving citizens who didn't care about the country as much as medals. It is now their mission to attempt to unify the country.
-Brazil's protection has kept us free to run our own government with little-to-no interference. Which is a positive and has also kept us unified without resulting in anarchy and being overrun.
Negatives:
-The problem with being left alone is that: the admins have turned the game into a "War Game" here we are with no meaningful wars.
-We can't make any big decisions because half our regions are occupied.
-We lose important citizens to other countries for production bonuses, which means citizens like Grimstone, Crumoet, Hamilton Moore, Merle Corey, and Locutus can't participate in our government other than as "advisors." (Though I know we wouldn't get 100% even with all our regions)
-We are like teenagers who share a room and are grounded to it. We know we are bored, but our parents have authority over us and we can't leave the room, so all we do is bicker.
-Every time someone else decides to come in and win a Resistance War for us, we pay the price, as we have to then have an expensive Training War with Brazil to give them back the region.
-Brazil doesn't seem to care. So long as they have their bonus, then they are happy. They had a surplus of bonuses when we were going to have a Training War with Uruguay, then Spain asked for their regions back and BOOM, our Training War plans were gone.
Ultimately we don't have too much we can do to leverage Brazil, apart from joining an alliance.
I think that the negatives have all lead to many South Africans leaving the game or 2-clicking away. I can shoot-the-crap with all you guys on the forums, without logging into this game.
Just my thoughts.

tl;dr - The Negatives of the Brazil Treaty outweigh the positives.

Couldnt agree more actually
Now what?
Now what? Vote Claudio that's what!

I agree, but blame the game mechanics.
Most of the countries of our size would like to have our situation.
Now it seems fun to me to have for example an epic battle to have congress. But in the case we hadn't congress for 2 months in a row and zero production bonus, fun goes away
Is worse player loose because boredom or because having no land? I'm not sure.
What I see is that if we break the actual status, we can't go back to it easily. So the alternative should be a firm one, not give a try

Wisdom has spoken - "Kuckuck"
We all like the idea NRL, but we lack the essential and supportive force to accomplish it. There's no easy U turn to this, if we decide to retreat.
As I've said before, I don't plan on going into a war with my pants down. I'd like to have leverage and a set plan that can allow us to accomplish what we need. More than likely via an alliance. Or through renegotiation.
The game mechanics are truly to blame, but not for our inactivity.
The game mechanics have simply made our "Brazil treaty" outdated and has lead to the inactivity.
We are in a game of war with nothing to fight for
Also Tariq: I'm glad you didn't leave 🙂
Even joining an alliance won't guarantee anything. Its why there was a point in time where we flip flopped alliances every couple months; none of them could be bothered to send enough help to make a significant difference. Since eSA is, actually, weaker than it was back then, the results won't be much different. Alliances are all about mutual benefit, but, because we're a small country, we have everything to take and nothing to give back.
At least we can try again, it'd have to be better than 2-clicking in-game and bickering about "Who is a bigger Monkey" on the forums...
What are you going to propose to these alliances then? No really, what are you going to tell them? We've tried joining EDEN several times before, even tried getting an EDEN-trainee alliance going that never went anywhere. What are you going to do or say that will be different?
@Seisan: Fine, let's all continue our steady decline. At least we know where that's going.
I'm asking a legitimate question Rico. If every other CP has failed to get us officially into an alliance, where can he succeed? I'm serious. I want to know what he will tell them.
Tell me Seisan when was the last time we were directly involved in a legitimate battle? One that wasnt a training war? WHen was the last military threat we have had directly against South Africa?
This is a war game, is it not? Should we not push to have a war? And what better way to do it dying on the battlefield for Brothers in Arms. South Africa may not have much to offer, but we want very little in return. Not to mention EDEN needs all the help it can get, so why would they say no?
"Tell me Seisan when was the last time we were directly involved in a legitimate battle?"
When Indo invaded us. And yes this is a game of war; a game of war we cannot be directly involved in because of game mechanics, geographical location, and population. You guys do know air strikes still exist right? You can always donate the funds and health towards that and then we can offer EDEN an air strike somewhere that they need a damage drain.
That way we can have a direct war, we help our allies, and we don't risk our sovereignty that you all cherish so much.

It's time to get our Dignity back.
Too bad you can't donate to the airstrike fund, and you couldnt have for quite a while now. But yes helping EDEN in a war would be the best option, yet after last weeks fiasco, I don't see "brozil" give up regions when we need them to. Negotiations are our best bet, and with Brazil invading Paraguay, we'll be more free, no?
