Just a Thought

I had a thought the other day. Yes I know I should be careful I might hurt myself.
I was thinking that the game needs some corporations or trade unions or whatever you want to call them. It could be based on the Military Unit structure. The Commander of the MU would be CEO and the division commanders and 2nd commanders would be the board. All members of the group could trade with each other at a reduced rate if they wished or the resources could be pooled for massive production. Different groups could be run as the group decides. The whole group could produce and profits divided between members or each could continue to sell by themselves.
I don't think this would be too difficult a modification to existing game mechanics. I could be wrong though.
It could lead to a whole new level of economic game play. A group could buy up an enemy nations resources to prevent production of weapons or food. Once a member of the unit then you could change citizenship or have your companies in other nations and have an international organization.
This of course is just a rough idea. Flesh it out a bit in the comments. Maybe, just maybe if we are lucky someone may notice our little idea. Don't hold your breath though.

Interesting thought. I don't know what you should do about it. Maybe approach the CP or Ministers to see what they think - if you haven't already done so
The Socialist Freedom Party (USA) had some ideas along these lines that revolved around building out a third-party donations-based economic system, but, alas, lack of tech and follow-thru meant it hasn't happened. (Dang anarchists.)
Good idea.

Doesn't this exist already - the communes that MU members work for? What is lacking is a democratic control structure for them, and more transparency (e.g.publication of accounts).
Have a look at my proposal for principles for RedBro also :

I think it would be interesting, but I would rather see it organized on a capitalist basis, not a socialist. I believe in working for myself, and then giving to others out of my gains, not working for a pittance while a bloated bureaucracy demands more and more of my work to give to others who have done nothing to earn it.
Just my .o2 IEP on the matter 🙂
MU based economy with ingame structure.
Good article.
Hmm, Viktor Kurgan said " ". I think that would be definitive on ANY subject.
more seriously, good idea. in my time at eRep, similar ideas have been tried out by political parties and militia groups. it does seem that these are knocked out by changes in game mechanics, and players go off to figure out how to get on with things. i'd like to get involved with something cooperative like this again.
Military Units are largely Business's the more experienced members tend to give and the younger members take. I think the major problem in this game is that people chase 100/100 Bonus citizenship, and over time it weakens their former nation and in turn their supposed alliance.
The major issue people need to come to terms with is that Bonus's are a perk not a necessity to play the game, unless you're a zombie.
