Opinions about Decisions
Derakor
So I came across a article by the 'beloved' SaraDroz, and felt the need to have a say. For those of us who have the same 'voice' as mine, or one similar.
I start by quoting our Great Crusader:
"I think most will agree that eCanada is in state of political 'crisis', or from it's Greek source (krisis) a time of decision."
I must concur, that eCanada's political situation is dire, and is in a state of crisis, which means it's a time to make decisions. Decisions, which must be made with caution, and weighted by the people of eCanada.
The EPC:
This said, moving to another nation, and fighting AGAINST eCanada, I must say, is not the best decision. In my eyes that is. But at least it's a decision, even if it is unpopular, or even seen as an act of 'terrorism' by some.
A policy of attacking eCanada, to help eCanada is really more counter-productive, then staying and attempting to counter the actions of 1 man. Not only is it affecting eCanadians, the CAF, and the Government of eCanada, it is also being felt by our Allies abroad. The fact is that the people who should be felt negatively the actions of ANY eCanadians, should be eCanada's Enemies, not her friends and citizens. I sympathize with our former members, but I cannot see the logic, or the benefit of seeing eCanada and her allies suffer, over a Political matter.
This 'civil war' as it is called, has done more harm for all, then good for all. Including the 'Exiles Partiots'. Since their actions have been subject to more scrutiny by the people they are suppose to be helping, then positive action. I quote Addy Lawrence:
"We aim to do this by raising the cost of indifference so that people do something about it rather than accept it and do nothing."
Raising the 'cost of indifference'? What more cost can there be, then the destruction of eCanada's community and freedoms, by the PTOing of parties that stand against the one. Also 'so that poeple do something about it rather than accept it and do nothing'? This is insulting at best, for those of us attempting to do something. It also puts into question just what the Ex-Patriots think of those of us who stay.
Bunker Smunker:
But I'll move on, from this issue, and talk about SaraDroz's second thing she decided to talk about... The 'Bunker Mentality' as she called it.
I'm sorry SaraDroz, this is not meant to be overly offensive, but I'm more then positive that people knew Acacia was kidding on his article regarding the Bunker. Mostly because, it's just way too out there for people. Obviously Acacia wouldn't go to a 'Bunker', since it's too much RP for nothing.
Now, if Acacia wants to act like a madman, over eCanada's issues and his stress over eCanada's issues, that's his discretion, but don't take all his words as truth, or seriousness.
Regarding Policies, for someone who truly doesn't wish to run for CP, you've really gone against that and posted a number of Policies. Either you run or you don't, don't raise the hopes of people who want to see you run, simply to lead a 'cause' that you don't truly wish to lead.
Derakor's Policies:
Though you have put it my mind to make a list of Policies I would like to see come into effect, since you're doing it, I might as well too.
A. A Nation of Unity: The countries national unity should not be limited to just the Government, but include all her citizens as well. If we are going to re-invite the Ex-Pats and Acacia back, then we better make sure all of eCanada's citizens are United both bethind this decision, and behind a United eCanada, through her political differences.
B. The Government Apprenticeship Program: This is a really good idea, however it this will not be effective to all new citizens, since a limitation would need to be put into effect to limit the load on those apprenticing. Other Apprenticeship Programs should be made by Political Parties who should make their own 'Shadow Cabinets' in order to provide a broader apprenticeship program.
C. The Pardon: I think that this Pardon is illegal, since it was conducted through corrupted means, whether physically or mentally, by members of the community. Also, I'm not sure Rolo cares either way, so long as he's allowed to stay on the forums. Also I think once a new congress is put into effect, a new discussion and vote on the issue should be implemented, where the decision Binding for 6 months, or until the subject is brought back up again.
D. Taxation: I believe entirely in Higher taxes on all Imports. Either we get more money on the things coming in, or we turn them away, it's just that simple. eCanada needs to focus on her own people, and her own businesses. The Government should be thinking of eCanada's interest, globally and nationally, first.
E. Foreign Policy: It's simple, keep eCanada safe, strong, and maintain good relations with her allies, while helping them out in times of need. Region swapping should only be implemented so long as eCanada is swapping it's eUK regions for eUSA regions. We need to maintain a strong sovereign front, and giving away our core regions is simply betraying that front. If the other nations want to swap their core regions, so be it, eCanada is eCanada, and it should not be bartered with lightly.
F. Accountability: It's simple, we need a stronger Supreme Court, Speaker of Congress, and Cabinet, in order to reset the standards for such accountability and Government Sanity. Actions seen as corrupt should be dealt with immediately, swiftly, and justly. The Government, through the Speaker of Congress, or their Deputy, should keep the eCanadian Citizenship well informed about important discussions being discussed in Congress.
The Government needs to employ new Strategies and new Offices in order to properly effect such suggestions. This new organization of the Executive Body will also help to set a Standard, and refresh eCanada into a new era.
Now, we need to think positively, stay strong, Unite together, and work for a better eCanada. It's just that simple.
I am for you, the True, North, Strong, and Free. Let's do this together.
Sincerely,
Derakor
Comments
Yep
The main thing I disagreed with in Sara's article was her choice of etymology.
This one is more apt for eCan:
crisis: early 15c., from Latinized form of Gk. krisis "turning point in a disease"
I don't believe EPC is all that destructive. People were already unhappy and it was vented in that direction. I hardly see them putting out articles to foster the movement and other than some initial RW issues, the damage was minimal and the hype overplayed.
Many in EPC won't be back, so they may want to consider what they want to add to eCanada for all their effort. However, I don't see them tearing the place apart, just making some buzz where some was much deserved.
That said, I may even vote for Team Derakor for your clear presentation of policies. Do you have other players you are working with to implement these plans?
@ Plugson: Just one other nameless person. I haven't really found others who I think either qualify, have the motivation, or that I can trust, yet.
You got any evidence of votes being bought? - Because you sure do seem to like to toss that accusation out there
If you have it, lets see it
Since I know there is none, you have destroyed all your credibility
Nicely stated Derakor.
I appreciate Sara for offering a dialogue that is respectful and thoughtful. I appreciate you can disagree with her without being disrespectful. I understood Acacia was roleplaying his bunker theme, perhaps to an extreme, but I found it humourous amidst all the tension and real life animosity.
I disagree with two main aspects of your platform.
The first is your proposal for another vote on the pardon. I see it causing the terrorists to be emboldened and gives them what they originally wanted. That is something I am completely against - giving the terrorist anything they want. The pardon has been confirmed twice. Acacia was elected representing EPIC on a promise to not revisit that issue. He was intimidated by his terrorist friends and real life abuse to poll the citizen's opinion for a referendum and again it lost. That's 4 votes. It's done. Why validate and bring us back to a conflict that everyone is tired of revisiting? I think it shows lack of vision to look backwards.
Secondly, you state:
"It also puts into question just what the Ex-Patriots think of those of us who stay."
Yet then you talk of:
"If we are going to re-invite the Ex-Pats ..back"...
Those two comments are not irreconcilable and the fact this is "A" in your agenda causes me substantial concern. I think it dismisses and minimizes everything we've gone through these last 10 days. It is disrespectful to all who stayed behind and united in defence against their treason. Yes -- treason. If that is the first plank of your platform I question who's interests you suggest to be representing.
You will not have a strong eCanada by allowing the terrorist any say or presence in our future. They reveled in mercenaries attacking us and they are unapologetic for the damage to our allies as a result as well. To let them in would disregard the cost to our allies in all of this as well.
Oh come on Rolo. Don't be embarrassed about it. It was an achievement of yours really. But how about, just for you, I'll edit that portion.
Terrorists!!! They also took our babies.
no wait, they left the babies and took all the senior citizens.
Those fakkers
@Northraider: "Yet then you talk of:
"If we are going to re-invite the Ex-Pats ..back"..."
You are taking some of what I said and using it against me. Well done. However later on in that paragraph I said "...then we better make sure all of eCanada's citizens are United both bethind this decision..."
Secondly, they are totally different comments talking about separate things. One is what I think they think of us, and the other is about what we are going to do, together. So you can't really relate them the way you do, and say that it dismisses and minimizes everything.
EPC shall rebrand "traitor" in the same fashion that The Thief has rebranded "eCanadian hero and patriot".
I wear the moniker of "eCanadian Traitor" with honour.
Sexy article. Also sexy golf hole thingys...
Tis a wee bit funny that the leader of the EPC left eCanada several months prior to Rolo being pardoned
hitch a ride on the band wagon
@Addy Lawrence: Didn't your mother ever tell you "Two wrongs don't make a right." Even if science says it does.
I still say instead of being in exile, it would've been better if you stayed here. Instead you made a choice lik Rylde, which is stooping kind of low, even if it's considered above what Rolo did.
Also, in case you you I think Rolo a "eCanadian Hero and Patriot" you'd be sadly mistaken. But Heroes don't shoot their friends, even if they've made bad choices. By friends I mean all of eCanada that doesn't support Rolo.
I recognize your distinction Derakor, yet any suggestion of finding a way to have the terrorists back is not acceptable. I also don't agree to call people who left of their own volition as exiles. They made their choice. Some of them did so after being a part in attacking us while still Canadian, only to try and distance themselves from the label of treason. They are fond of distinctions as well.
I also think it is convenient to propose a vote to allow them back and then saying you would support the decision, yet ignoring all the votes on Rolo's pardon. That stance disregards the citizen's opinion previously. How can they have any confidence their opinon would be respected or honoured again.
Say "no" to any reconsideration of the pardon, and say "no" to any manner of having terrorists back in Canada and then I agree with your proposals.
Somehow I think your Party will not allow that. For too long the terrorists were part of that EPIC party, and so many of them have now fled and turned on us even though elected just last month to represent our interests. Others now sit on the sidelines of another country and lecture us about or situation. Some are posting here and giving opinion that is neither relevant or requested. That any terrorists would support a candidate is a concern. It speaks of them suggesting they are seeking an ally inside our Government, perhaps to lobby for them for effectiveness they were impotent to achieve.
Your party has more issues than your platform in my opinion. Where is the platform that your party stands for? Can EPIC speak with one voice or will it continue to splinter into self-interests? It's a risk voting for any EPIC candidate based on their performance this last month and these last 18 months.
You catch up fast in 12 days, Northraider. Which version of the history books have you been reading? Must be the new 'Victors' edition.
The people who left are gone. You should put more energy into routing out those who stuck around who may have lingering doubts about the pardon. This is the main effect of your comments.
Why did Acacia delete all his previous articles? I understand that the 'bunker article' was mostly in jest but behind the lulz it was evidently felt necessary to 'shred some evidence'.
