Our Party Platform :

First, and foremost, we commit ourselves to total democracy – within our party, within the country and in the whole of the New World. In letter and in spirit, we shall try to be the voice of the people and a movement by the people and for the people. This platform itself shall be adopted only when the majority says yes, and shall not be rigid, but subject to change.

Total democracy implies that each and every member shall have a say in all party decisions, if he/she makes the effort to say something. Total democracy also implies complete transparency. Our aim is to strengthen the nation and its polity by providing an open, inclusive platform.

A - Party Structure -

(i). Executive Committee (EC) - 5-8 members elected by the active members who make the decisions for the party. The Party President must be backed by a majority in this body. This does not mean all members will not be consulted. They will be, but the EC is there when we need fast decisions. As of now, membership is open to basically everyone who are active members(ie.,just sign this party platform!).

(ii). Party Spokesperson - Pretty self-explanatory. His line is the official party line. Also, automatically a part of the EC. His job is to write articles to spread the DPI word, so other eIndian citizens can enjoy the fruits of democracy too. There can be any number of deputies under the chief spokesperson, but their word won't be counted as the official party line and they are not members of EC by default.

(iii). Vice President - One of the members from within the EC. Assumes responsibility of President, when he isn't around. Usually the one who gets the second highest number of votes in Party President election.

(iv). Party President - Has to report to the EC and all decisions have to be backed by a majority in the EC.

B - Party Name and Logo -

If a Party President intends to change the name or logo of the party, he/she needs to contact the EC and active members first explaining the reasons behind and proceed as per their advice; else he will be blacklisted for months to come(duration yet to be decided) from becoming the Party President or any Govt post(Congress or President) from DPI.

C - Election Policies -

We commit ourselves to providing capable leaders for eIndia’s present and future. Party President and Country President Candidates have to post their expression of interest to DPI-EC at least one week in advance.

(i). Country President Elections –––––

DPI shall support it's candidate in the nation's best interests.

1. When there are many DPI members applying for this post, a poll will be held that will commence 5 days from the in-game election date and will conclude 3 days from the in-game election date.

2. It is the responsibility of the current PP to hold the poll and conduct the whole procedure efficiently.

3. In case of a tie, it's upto the DPI-EC to decide the worthy candidate.

4. If no one expresses interest in CP candidacy, the PP after discussion with EC can support a candidate from other party.

(ii). Party President Elections ––-––––

To ensure political stability, the first 3 points in the section above [ie., C (i)] shall be applied.
C(i)1 ~ primarily to prevent the vote split, so our member strength can be of better use someplace else.

4. If a DPI member places his candidature in-game without going through the above mentioned process, he/she should not be supported by DPI.

(iii). Congress Endorsement Criteria –

To ensure a certain minimum level of commitment from our congressmen the following criteria shall be applied. The party shall give official support only to those candidates who fulfill the following criteria.

1. The candidates promise to abide by the citizenship entry rules laid down by the Head of the Congress(Shakti Rocks).

2. The candidates sign up on the Indian forums at forum.erepublikindia.com

3. The candidates seek to serve out their full term as an active congress member representing DPI.

In case a Congressman/Congresswoman goes against any of these during his/her term, then he/she shall not be given official party nomination for the following month.

PS : Currently, we are not the largest of the parties in eIndia and the some of the above rules may seem too utopian in nature for a party of our size, but the fact that we are progressing at a rapid pace and we are simply put, the most active political party in eIndia cannot be denied.
