Europe Today (Day 1,449), Hello Belgium!

Day 1,449, 21:22 Published in Belgium Switzerland by chasaj

The Illuminator

Welcome to The Illuminator! This is my first article published in my new home of Belgium. For all of those Belgian people who don't know who I am, this song tells my life story (sort of): Chasa J Swiss Prophet.

But really, I am a high schooler from Washington State in the US of A.

Here's a (normally) bi-weekly segment of The Illuminator, Europe Today! Hooray for more lame war commentators!

Europe

United Kingdom, Ireland
Also: Canada
Canada is again in Britain in what has apparently becoming the longest ongoing war in history. I don't know if that's true, but it is pretty cool anyway! Ireland is again nearly completely conquered. It'll probably be wiped again a few hours after this has been published.

Spain, Portugal
Spain is mostly boring right now. The USA/Brazil-Spain War is mostly over, it seems. Brazil still owns the Canary Islands, though. Portugal is occupying Venezuela way over in South America.

France, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Hungary
France has gotten a few regions back from Serbia now. Serbia was using them to get a land bridge to get to Croatia (who is occupying Mexico) and the USA. Poland still has much of the country, though. Germany also has several regions back from Poland! Who knows how long that will last.

Czechoslovakia* and Austria are in a pretty intense war. The Austrians had a major victory in Southern Bohemia recently. This is pretty interesting, I think. It proves small countries, with the right amount of allies, can actually have military power! Wowzo!

Hungary is boring.

Slovenia is still occupying Switzerland, though an extremely controversial deal is in the works. This deal and the government's reactions to people's opinions on it are ultimately why I and several others left Switzerland. The deal is basically Slovenia would give us Graubunden or Svizzera italiana or Romandie or who knows. Then, there would be a TW in whatever regions were left except for Deutschschweiz (you can't get between a Slovenian and their iron). The part that I think is a punch in the stomach is that they want money "insurance". I think this is just a way for Slovenia to screw us over once more. A RW will start in Deutschschweiz eventually. The government won't start it, but someone else will, and the Slovenians will blame it on our government and the deal will be over and the money will be kept.
blargh, I'm tired of Slovenia so I'm gonna stop talking about them now.

Belgium and the Netherlands are in a friendly TW. Coming to Belgium from Switzerland, this country so far seems great! The ability to actually be neutral and have a friendly TW is a great one to have when you're a small country.

*I'm not sure if Slovakia and Czech Rep. are merged or not. I haven't heard anyone say they are, but a lot of people refer to them as Czechs and the president calls the country Czechoslovakia, so obviously I'm assuming they are. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Serbia, Croatia, ALBANIA!, Macedonia, Greece, Italy

First off, Albania and Kosovo are on the map! That's all, though. There isn't any actual country/region development yet, but they're there so that's cool. There are no more gray spots in Europe (besides Lichtenstein, Andorra, Luxembourg, etc.)!

Serbia is once again reaching across the world into the USA. They've taken all of Croatia's regions in Italy, so they now own the southern half of that peninsula. Croatia is way off in Mexico and Columbia, they have none of their original regions. They aren't even in their home continent!

Macedonia and Greece are still fighting. I don't think they'll ever stop, really. Maybe that eWorld Book of World Records thing should take a look at them.

Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, R.o. Moldova
Turkey has been invaded by Romania and Bulgaria, but now only Romania is left in their original regions. Bulgaria has many of their territorial acquisitions in Ukraine and Russia.

Ukraine has many of their regions back, but Bulgaria still has several. The Republic of Moldova is relatively peaceful right now.

Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Belarus

Sweden is letting go of all of Denmark's regions. They had taken them over when Denmark (their ally) was PTO'd by Romania. They'll now be again attacking Norway. Supporting a RW in Demark would be a good investment, if you can do it!

Estonia is back in Finland and Lithuania has conquered Belarus, but Latvia, the third ABC member, isn't doing so well. Russia has conquered them. At the time of this picture, Latvia has one region, but it'll soon be gone again.

That concludes Europe Today! Check back in a few days for another edition. Also coming up: An article on whatever I feel like talking about? Who knows.

Hail Switzerland!
Hail Belgium!
Hail freedom!
