Day 1,418, 04:17 Published in Ireland Ireland by JohNandJoaN

Welcome to the first edition of a new organization.

The Irish Social Front.

The aim of this organization is to:

Encourage the publishing of Irish Articles,
Improve communications between Irish citizens,
Introduce new citizens to the community,
Educate new members,
Promote the Irish IRC channel ( #Ireland )
Create a new sense of community by running lotteries, competitions etc.

Irish society has become weak, we know each other but we only know who is in our vision. Over the last week I have talked with 5 new players and have helped keep them playing. I have answered their questions and will keep guiding them all the way. I wish to try improve our society and get more citizens to be out in our view.

The Irish Social Front hopes to release many articles the Irish community can interact with, learn some facts, listen to players stories, meet new players and have a new feel of the Irish Community.

So to celebrate our first article I had arranged an interview with Ian E Coleman founder of Eire Aonair who have sponsored this organization.

Q1] When you first joined eRepublik, did you think you would end up where you are now?
[A1] Not really. eRepublik is a unique game and at first I was just curious and I don’t believe I had any expectations. Eventually I did start to think about what I wanted to do in the New World, but in the beginning I was most attracted to the media module rather than politics.

[Q2] What are your earliest memories as a member of the Irish Community?
[A2] My first memories of the community come from writing my first articles and getting some feedback. The community was very supportive and welcoming. I think that reading and writing articles is the best way to learn and become involved in the community – I recommend trying it to any new players or those looking to become more active.

[Q3] What made you decide to set up the political party Eire Aonair?
[A3] Well I’d had the idea for a while for a centrist party that would balance the interests of ideologies (such as capitalism and communism) and encourage free speech and independent non-partisan thought. After the wipe of eIreland in 2010, the country had to undergo a reconstruction of its political, scene since back then being wiped meant losing all parties, companies, and organizations. When a party that was just right never came along on its own, I decided to do it myself. I couldn’t resist founding the party on March 17 (St. Patricks Day 2011).

[Q4] What do you believe Eire Aonair has got to offer to the people of eIreland?
[A4] Eire Aonair has something to offer anyone who is loyal to a sovereign eIreland. Our name translates roughly into “A Single Ireland” or One Ireland. To me this means a united community where everyone is working in the best interests of the nation, and that means supporting our fellow eIrish citizens. Whether you are a member of our party or not, we are always working on great community projects, we are always willing to include non-party members, and we do it all so that we can share the benefits of our work with the community and work toward a better, more free, and more proud eIreland.

[Q5] What do you believe caused the success of Eire Aonair?
[A5] Eire Aonair is a great place for new citizens because of the constant discussions and opportunity to learn during our projects and gain experience. I know that this has attracted many party members and helped us retain many more. Others join because of our endorsement of free speech or the founding principles and ideals of the party. But I think a major factor has been our strong and productive community.

[Q6] You’re known as the "Wiki Man". From your work what is the greatest bit of eHistory that you can recall?
[A6] There have been a lot of great events to choose from, but the one that I say had the greatest impact on our nations history in recent times, is the complete wipe of eIreland in December of 2010. There was so much going on at this time, that I could probably write a damn good novel based on the events. After the wipe, Ireland lost much of its infrastructure including parties, companies, and organizations (in those days being wiped was very serious business). It also diffused much of the political tension that had previously existed by uniting the country under the goal of rebuilding. This event was a turning point since it lead to the creation of our modern parties and of the Irish Army. It really brought on a great deal of change.

[Q7] We are currently at a ceasefire with the eUK. Where do you think this war will go in time to come?
[A7] Unless there is a major change in international foreign affairs, I don’t see our war with the eUK ending any time soon. Our two nations have collected a long history of conflict (on top of real life history) and the eUK and eIreland are geographically forced to expand into each other due to being surrounded by much stronger and/or allied nations. I’d say the odds are stacked against peace.

[Q8] What are your thoughts on our new President Sweet Drinker?
[A8] I think we’re lucky to have him. I was very impressed by his newspaper articles, he seems to have some game changing ideas, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do. So far he seems to be very task oriented, which is promising.

[Q9] Do you think you will step up to the challenge of President someday?
[A9] Maybe. But it isn’t something I see myself trying in the near future. I think that being CP requires a lot of commitment, experience, and know how. I have some ideas about how you would go about being a great CP, but I don’t know if I have it in me just yet. I’d probably be preparing for it a few months in advanced 😉

[Q10] On a final note, what hopes do have for eIreland in the future?
[A10] In my opinion, eIreland is the greatest nation in eRepublik. I believe that we have the potential to do great things, and to become international leaders. My hope is that our community will strive, that our economy will be strong, that our militaries will be united and just, and that our leaders will represent us well.

Thanks for the interview Conway, and all the best to eIreland. o/
