[BREAKING] Toolbox Implemented
Stranger Here Myself
Today a new set of collectibles have been introduce
😛the toolbox. Check your storage to see a new section under the label "Collections".
By working in your (own
😉raw material companies, you can 'find' tools: Hammers, Pliers, Saws, Shovels and Tape Measure. Very much like with Bazookas, you can Assemble them to a 'Toolbox' that will double your production for 5 further WaM (Work as Manager) clicks.
The first results of The New World Economist's Quick Toolbox Poll show that you now have around 5% (4.7) chance to come across a certain tool - meaning that you are supposed to gather one at every fourth (4.25) click - with equal distribution of types.
Results so far (will be updated here):
1063 WaM clicks entered
56 Hammers (5.26% occurance)
43 Pliers (4.04
😵
48 Saws (4.51
😵
57 Shovels (5.36
😵
46 Tape Measures (4.32
😵
Please help the research by filling out this form!
Generally, that means every 20th WaM (or WoE)* click (on average) will give us a full Toolbox - doubling the production of a further 5 clicks. In theory that would mean a 25% production boost in the WaM-based* RM production sector.
At the same time, it is hard to predict the total average boost to the global raw material sector, as we don't have reliable information on the share of WaM-based production, neither on the actual distribution of company qualities.
World markets reacted with raw material prices freefalling though, an average 10%-15% fall in prices can be observed so far.
*twisted-pixel confirms in the comments below that it doesn't have to be a WaM click, you can receive items by working as an employee too.

These articles of yours are incredibly informative, keep it up,
Can you discover tools while under the effect of a toolbox bonus?
"Can you discover tools while under the effect of a toolbox bonus?"
I really don't know, results show only one single lucky manager getting all parts needed together (with 40 WaM clicks), but the poll is anonymous so I can't ask him/her.
Indeed Sweets, given that WRM sells for more than FRM - adding in a toolbox bonus would likely get used on WRM. Potentially bringing FRM and WRM nearer to the same price - ending the practice of producing WRM to sell and buy FRM, which normally gets you more FRM than if you choose to buy and use the Q5 FRM company.
Hopefully it backfires, given that there are free FRM farms, potentially meaning that the majority of less affluent players use the toolbox on their farm, and drive the price of FRM below WRM still.
😁😁 *facepalm*
Yes yes angry swiss is angry but WRM does sell for more, so when I noticed the toolbox - using it on the Q5 WRM company has the most profit. Have a limited understanding of economics, and so will the majority of players - so likely came to the same conclusion.
a new update,without any information from erepublik team...thx for sharing your intel..vote + sub(shout)
Look Seanan, there are so many things you are good at - slander, lying, trolling, as well as unprincipled flattery - why don't you return to that instead of trying to look clever in something you've proven your ultimate incompetence in so many times?
Wasn't trying to look clever, my dear, I was interacting on the newest admin update. On the most informative article I've seen yet. I have this unstoppable habit of looking at your articles and not disregarding it just because you are an insufferable bigot, a true conservative - I find them useful, and therefore put comments looking for constructive interaction.
I believe if anyone else made my comments, you would have engaged to correct or offer an alternative outcome. Its that mindframe which isolated you from Ireland, and stopped all your attempts to gain any creditable influence. Brilliant mind, but not possible to work with.
While I believe that winning the congress seat with the most votes counts for 'creditabe influence', what made me moving away from Ireland is exactly the reptile-like trolls like you.
"I believe if anyone else made my comments, you would have engaged to correct or offer an alternative outcome."
Indeed. At the same time I feel zero to none lust to engage in any discussion with you who told me - after I had spent hours completing a detailed efficiency audit for your pathetic militia calculating all possible alternatives - that I 'only criticise and don't offer solutions'. Indeed I would engage in a civilized discussion with anyone having the slightest sense of integrity and honesty. You're not one of them.
There are far more FRM bonuses in the e-world, than WRM bonuses. In most countries any given FR company will produce more than a WR company of the same Q level. That is what really accounts for most of the price difference.
You might sell WRM for more money. But it all evens out in the end, since you can produce more quantity of the FRM.
I still agree that the best place to use the toolbox will most likely be a Q5 weapon raw company. They do tend to have the most value added benefit of any raw company.
"I still agree that the best place to use the toolbox will most likely be a Q5 weapon raw company."
Now the issue is how many people have 5 (or using the day change 3) Q5 WRM companies. On the supposition that Toolboxes work like Bazookas - the 5 uses must be one after another once assembled.
v
Bazookas don't have to be used in succession. I have used 1 shot, then switched to a tank for the next few kills, until I reached a new foe with 100% health and high strength. Then I switched back to the bazooka and used another shot, and so on.
A bazooka is a total waste on a foe that would take 1-2 shots to kill with a tank.
By only using a bazooka on foes that would take 4-5 clicks to kill, I maximize the "kills per click" to achieve various goals like those limited-time missions they occasionally throw at us.
"Bazookas don't have to be used in succession. I have used 1 shot, then switched to a tank for the next few kills"
Yeah, but that is only because you have the option to switch weapons - like when you have nothing else, you can't simply switch off Bazookas and fight bare handed - you have to use them. And when you click 'work', you don't have any other options - at least so far.
That is true. They do need to add the ability to fight barehanded optionally, even if you have weapons in your inventory. It sucks that you are forced to use a weapon if it's the only thing you have.
Maybe when you have a toolbox in your inventory, they will add a work button. One that says "work" and one that says "work with toolbox" to each of your companies. But I doubt it. You are most likely correct in assuming the "5 uses" will just be the next consecutive work sessions once you build your toolbox.
Yeah, and this is the core problem in predicting the increase in production. First - and that is my main problem when dealing with in-game macroeconomics - we might make more or less correct calculations on the micro level, but we have no reliable statistical information on the structure of production - the distribution of company Qs, employment, etc.
Second, a lot of company owners act rather irrationally. e.g. I now use my WaE click in a Saltpeter Mine. The owner pays $170 for that (before taxes). It's actually above the top wage offer outstanding, so it is worth it for me to stay. However, producing 280 WRM today, I only made him $92,4 value of goods - in exchange for the $170 labour cost. Even at yesterday's prices, it would be only $109,2 - $112. And he has 5 employees. Now imagine these company owners dealing with the Toolbox usage optimization ...
As a _rough_ estimate I'd say total production increase won't be above 10-12%. Which is already priced by the markets.
Thank you I wasn't sure what it was for.
From my side Bhane; even when I didn't have full bonuses in weapons, the WRM still got me more FRM than producing FRM with full bonuses - apart from when trading in Ireland, which for whatever reason, that rule doesn't apply.
Main suppliers of RM are going to come from the larger nations, and more likely with the bonuses, which would support the idea that WRM production would get the most attention from the toolbox. But as Stranger pointed out, most people won't have 5 Q5 WRM companies and the admins most likely won't add the option to work with and without the toolbox. Because that would make it too easy for us without the gold to fully use the option.
V+S
I'm hoping there'll be an exec summary after the "debate" 😉
I've no notion what it means as my town centre and companies are like an eIrish Ghost Estate, and I've been too lazy to work out how to make that better.
You can fight barehand whenever ya like by donating your weaps to a mate til later. Using a bazooka shot on someone nearly dead will take you over 5k. for the hit.
nice article
I like like my graphics better then the official icons

Informative article. I always know where to look for the latest news when the Admins start f*cking around with things.
thanks. vote&sub from germany

SHM writes a great article...then ruins it by being SHM aka slinging mud for no reason in the comments 🙁
You were so close SHM, keep trying!
Great article, as always.
Very intelligently written.
Excellent
Good article and good discussion. V&S.
One thing is wrong, you do not have to WaM to receive an item, i just worked in my daily commune and received a saw.
Ty, twisted, that indeed was a new piece of information. Could anyone _use_ the toolbox with a WaE click, btw?
(No, Buchaphallus, it's SHM writing an article (the quality of which is to be judged by his readers) and showing the reptiles who have trolled, insulted and slandered him for months to crawl back to their den instead of basking here. Full stop.)
I got a piece in the commune today too.
Also, a friend got the full set today, will see if I can find out any more about use.
excellent eco article as usual, keep the good work up, mate
Circling back on an important point. If you're out of tanks, you've assembled a bazooka, but didn't use it. You're faced with a Tier two or three battle...you can't food only fight.
that sucks. it'd be great under those circumstances to be able to FF and save our 'zooka for a big one.
So feedback is that the toolbox, once assembled, can be only be used consecutively as suspected. Can't be turned on or off in any way, or paused - i.e. assemble and then the next 5 RMs you work in get double production. So obviously working in your top rated RMco's will get max benfit.
That's all.
I only work in Q5s.
The drop rate seems to be about 10% (or a little less).
It seems the drop rate is higher on low Q companies, and lower on the high Q companies. The weighted average may be around 25%, but my guess is the real drop rate per company is "10% x (6 - Q)".
I got a full toolbox today 😉
