[Election results] A summary of the Congress election 25/8

Day 1,375, 04:17 Published in Sweden Sweden by Valnad
This article will give a summary of the Congress election, which ended this morning with the results being finalized later in the afternoon.

NOTICE: These results may still change during the next 2-3 hours, should admins find that someone has cheated and gained votes from multis etc.

This election seem to have ended with the two largest parties scoring a landslide victory with FBS gaining +50% candidates to a total of 15, with FHD not far behind and improving slightly by going from 11 to 12 seats in this months congress. Coming in third, but still the biggest dissapointment this month, we find Partiet who have had two rather bleek months compared to their usual results. This month they lost 3 seats, landing on a total of 7.

Taking a look at the minority parties, we see a couple of interesting changes. MSAP are back in town again, however disturbed by having several inofficial candidates on their list, but fortunately none of them got in. Instead we see three familiar faces in Beharede, Seblas and Olle21, but still one man short of tieing the fourth place with this months big surprise: Marknadspartiet!

The previous international unionist party, Aurora (also known as Norsefire), disbanded shortly before this election and gave their party to Marknadspartiets members. This was obviously a good move on their part, as they now have four congress seats between their members! I'd like to give a special note to the fact that none of these fellas have been elected to congress before, so it shall be interesting to see how they'll tackle this opportunity throughout the next 30 days.

Last, and certainly least, we find Nybörjarpartiet who could not run on their own due to having too few members, but one of their leading members - 9696martin - still got a seat by running through FHD. The official results thus show him as a FHD candidate.

As a last note, let me just congratulate all of the newcomers in our congress. This month we shall meet the acquaintance of 12(!) congressmen with no prior experience of congressional work. Here's a reminder for those of you who have been around before; lend a hand to these members in case they have questions or need help in any other way.

And with that, let us take a look at the numbers!

Who won and who lost?

Flashback Sweden (FBS) are the supreme winners this month, without any doubt. 15 out of 42 seats is a very good result and almost bring them back their glory days of 2008 and 2009. Definitely a giant leap forward for the biggest party in Sweden.

Folkhemsdemokraterna (FHD) slightly improve their result from last month, but let us remember that they got a very good result then and needless to say, it's great to have 12 out of 40 seats. Especially when considering how much smaller they are in comparsion to FBS.

When there are winners, there are losers. This month only have one, but boy did that result hurt Partiet and their members. Losing another 3 seats then have in two months time went from being the largest congress party to have 7 seats left, which is less than 50% of FBS. The result was, however, expected. Members of Partiet have struggled in the wake of Dalze's abdication from the position as party leader and several of their regularly active members were unavailable this month. Still though, I guess that could be said about any losing party and there's no way of sugar-coning these results. Partiet will have to improve next month or risk finding themselves being marginalized in the congress.

Norsefire/Aurora had a quick burst of energy in last months election, but unfortunately their time in Swedish politics ended a couple of weeks prior to this election with them leaving to try and re-establish Denmark as a sovereign nation once more. This, however, gave a huge opportunity to Marknadspartiet and boy did they cease the moment!

With four entirely fresh congressmen with no prior experience in this line of work, this marks the beginning of their time in Sweden's high society. I shall definitely keep an eye or two on these members this month.
