Editorial 09: Day 1,342 - A Government Missing in Action
Mr Crumpets
The last month has been a rollercoaster which has bought out the best and worst of eAustralia.
We've had three types of governments that have summed up the whole of our country.
* Troll based and negative
* Brilliant and eager
* Bored and inactive
Just over 30 days ago, the DocterDry Government was impeached for it's failure to provide stability and proper communication between executive, senate and the general public.
To much fanfare the H.Nelson Government came to power with a short ten day burst of activity that seemed to put our country back on track.
Then, the Majester Government was elected with the promise to carry on the previous government's good work.
As a former member of that cabinet, I can say that quite simply we have....
Not every member of the cabinet should be tainted with that brush, but a clear majority (myself included) and as a collective, we have not delivered.
The facts are undeniable...
* Defence orders NOT published daily in eRepublik
* Education articles NOT published regularly enough
* Government updates NOT published daily in eRepublik
* Training War with NZ STILL out of control
* Reports to senate on important issues have ceased
* Ministers have gone Missing in Action
* Succession planning has FAILED, that is, deputies are not able to carry out tasks that ministers could not do (IE: Articles)
* Prime Minister has FAILED to sack those absent ministers
As fas as I can see, only Mark Brennan in Immigration, Venja in Finance and Binda in Foreign Affairs have been seen to do anything.
One thing that has me concerned is the lack of action from the Prime Minister Majester.
One example is that I resigned around 3 days ago from cabinet. This has yet to be acknowledged and I still have access to the cabinet room.
As far as I can see, the only difference between the current Majester Government and the DocterDry Government is that Majester hasn't gone negative towards people like DD did... possibly the only thing saving him from impeachment talk.
So why did I resign?
A combination of reasons, however it would be too easy to say it was because of the inaction of others.
Simply, real life has got in the way.
In between work, footy calling, voice overs, DJing, going out on dates and trying to have a 'life' away from the computer, the tasks of MoI just got plan boring in comparison.
Without much going on in cabinet (adding to my boredom with the role), I simply just did not do my job.
So, instead of just letting rest of the term slide by with nothing being done by me (which would add further scorn to the Government), I thought the best decision would be for me to resign and let Majester find someone else who was keen and eager to take over the role.
On a side note, I was offered the Press Director role again at the GGP but declined as I wanted to just sit in the background for a while.
There is no doubt we are facing some major problems as a country.
Just the other day in the GGP forum, the questions was asked, who should we back for Prime Minister?
So far an answer has not been found - no one has really jumped off the page.
However there is a bigger problem. No matter who is elected, do we have enough man power for a cabinet that will fully function for a whole term?
I think not.
I believe it is time now, as a country, we should look at a merge of our country with another.
NZ and Indonesia can both not be trusted... so should we merge with South Africa? Maybe go for something dramatic and ask the USA to reach us (via South America) and take us over?
It seriously needs to be looked at, because as a country, we are becoming less active, especially in government and there just simply isn't enough newbies rising through the ranks to do the work that needs to be done.

Comments
Yeah, we failed.
I don't know CH, you as a minister can be held responsible too, you say you were to busy to do anything, thats ok but you still had time to write this attack article.
Could it be you just enjoy critising more than you like doing the daily grind of boring articles?
Join me Mr Crumpets. Join your Dear Father! It is not too late to repent and ask for forgiveness! Perhaps there is a position by my side for you...
@AVT - please read the article properly. I said I am to blame as well.
lol, yet you found time to do this article haha
Voted.
he resigned 3 days ago 😮 clearly he did not plan for this to happen 😛 so he has had time to write this because he is not in cabinet as of 3 days ago 😛
As pointed out *sigh, some people don't get it* I don't have time to do the job, which is 'day to day' tasks. A one off out of the blue article like this... yeah, maybe I could do something like this every 7 days maybe - unsure about when I have that time to type.
This article is evidence of Mr Crumpets biased.
He only posts articles about people he doesn't like. Note that he is an ex cabinet minister of the majester government.
However on that note i will say that this article is FACTUAL, majester and his government is COMPLETELY miss in action and are not active in-game, on forum or in irc.
Yet i don't see the trollers and disruptors saying anything about it? Wheres the 3 impeachments and all the attack threads?
I was impeached for not posting articles in-game (eveen though i didnt for good reason) yet Majester hasn't given a reason and hes not active in-game, in irc or on the forums.
Hypocricy MAXXXXXXXXXXXX
Double Standards MAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
"As far as I can see, the only difference between the current Majester Government and the DocterDry Government is that Majester hasn't gone negative towards people like DD did... possibly the only thing saving him from impeachment talk."
Ummmm that's because he isn't saying ANYTHING. lol.
I'm sure if trollers and disruptors were trying to destroy Majesters CP term he would be telling them to gtfo just as i did.
Also i would like to say "told you so" to everyone.
I said to EVERYONE that as soon as this new government got in that they would be cranking out information articles non stop to pretend like they are active but they would eventually give up.
Once again im right.
Have to say, you have been largely disappointing Majester. I have been asking for you as PM for almost a year, you have the chance and you seem to squandering your talents and the opportunity to build eAustralia. I will be endorsing anyone who is willing to make the effort to revive eAustralia, not to just merely keep the ship steady.
you're a USA fag now Cal, so shhh
Please, i am still as involved here as i was before henry noob.
Learn your place, whore.
I TOLD YOU ALL SO.
LOL
You failed Crumpets. There's only one thing I despise almost as bad as a crap government - ex ministers who cut and run down their team.
Add yourself to the list of eAus failures who never stuck it out and had a crack. You let your team down boy
wait we had a PM and cabinet this term jesus i just though we were conquered again.
When failure gets to be a constant state of affairs from one elected government to the next, you just need to lower the standards.
Even I would make a better PM, I would at least release a article every few days
Just saying CH you found time to write this article but couldn't find time to do any (well except at the start of the term) when you were part of the government. It kind of shows where your priorities lie.
As for Majesters government, yeah some articles would be great, but DD created articles non-stop when he was first elected and what did he get for his trouble> relentless trolling.
"Just the other day in the GGP forum, the questions was asked, who should we back for Prime Minister?"
Yes names have been thrown around but has anyone from the GGP actually done anything by contacting anyone? Not from what I had seen hence why I left a failing party
this is boring. things were fun when DD was running the show.
😁 what Infin said
One would think that with half of our regions perma-owned by one country and seemingly a third of our regions will be perma-owned by another, that we would get together and restore our full nation.
That's my dream - to have a full nation. But we seem to be sheep... I mean inured to being a 2 region nation. Why? So we can role play our widdle government and some business people can make some gold.
And I know... blah blah blah if we organise and fight big bad Indo will attack blah blah.
Anyway, I'm pretty much disappointed in 90% of our "leaders". Those who allowed us to drift into a shadow of our former selves. Bring on the next term of indifferent, selfish and/or uninspired leadership. Eventually everyone wannabe will have their chance, get their medal and do nothing. If we are lucky, maybe Indo and NZ will allow us one petty region.
The trollers and disruptors, disrupt and disable my CP term, they then get into government and then they leave and leave the wheel unmanned.
How's that change you wanted coming along?
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/how-039-s-that-change-you-wanted-working-out--1849694/1/20
so you like the concept WW that we will have a grand battle, put up an honourable contest and then be destroyed? haha
I don't buy it infin, Indo has conquered us 7 times. The next time some missions come along or they get a wild hair or get bored they'll attack us again anyway.
Its like being in prison. Once you've been marked as weak you will never have your "honour" and the predators will pick on you any time they want.
Along with South Africa, we're the only countries in the eWorld who have permanently seceded their territories. How many of us, Mr. Patriot, feel "proud" to be a weakling country?
Wally we have followed that path before and what did it get us? NOTHING, for all your chest thumping and rhetoric it won't make one difference when it comes to damage dealt and battles. The only option is to get more players, what does that better, being occupied or building a country?
And to Guag> It appears no one in the GnG wants to have a serious run this term, how can we compel people in other parties to run? As always we will nominate the candidate we feel best when they make it known they want to run. And ironic you left a 'failing party' and went the the AI that has been PTO'd by Paul, lol
@AVT, I would rather be in a PTO'd party where there is some sort of semblence than in a failing party like GGP.
GGP goes well for 2 days then nothing happens
Wally: There's a difference between how one handles themselves when necessary and purposely antagonising the enemy to more swiftly bring about our demise. Perhaps you're right about eIndo - who knows? We've never had the opportunity to give it a shot before someone shoots off at the mouth and provokes a wipe. Guess what? eIndo delivers each and every time.
Guagature: Hang on, I need to get my impersonation of Rowan and Hamon right first..
YEAHHHHH AI ISN'T A PARTY!@ PARTY PARTY NO PARTY HERE. WE GET TOGETHER AND AGREE ON THINGS BUT THERE'S NO PARTY AND THERE'S NO WE. WE AGREED ON A CONSTITUTION BUT WE AREN'T A PARTY OK? WHEN WILL EVERYONE UNDERSTAND THAT OK????
How did I do? 😛
heeeeeeeeeeeeeee
when a bad situation just keeps on, ask yourself who is profiting by the situation, and how that profit is occurring.
What is the gain in running the rump of a country, arguing forcefully that it is acceptable to do so & attacking anybody else who tries to get control ( ie like Dr Dry) or even suggest a different approach.
I guess if a country is wiped, revenue cannot be raised & delt with.
