In response to the recently published note by turkish government, the Government of Spain has decided to publish this statement about our position towards Turkey.

First of all, I consider necessary to put all of us in context. Relations between Turkey and Spain have never been good. I’m not here to state the reasons, but when Turkey left TERRA and placed in ONE’s side citizens of Spain had not a good opinion about this country, as some turk citizens might had a bad opinion about us. This is completely understandable as we’ve been fighting each other for so long and establishing new relationships with old enemies is never easy.

On the other hand, it’s true that some spanish citizens have occasionally fought against Turkey during this time, most of them coming from a certain militia (LCI), but one of it’s members was the responsible of signing the first and only MPP between Turkey and Spain. However, when it arrived Turkey destroyed it supporting an enemy of ONE and an enemy of Spain, Argentina.

I should remind you what the Treaty of ONE, the charter of the alliance you want to join, says about this issue even when it should not be necessary as it’s a matter of common sense.

Article V - Military Operations and military relations with members countries
All Military operations have to be discussed with the Alliance Leadership, and approved by it. The countries shall follow the decisions made on the battle priorities and operations by the alliance control.
1.1 Any aggressive act against another member country will result in a disciplinary hearing.
1.2 Any military operation started against the flat decision of the Alliance Leadership will result in a disciplinary procedure.
2. The member countries should sign a Mutual Protection Pact with all other member countries with strategic value to either for herself or for the other country.
3. The member states can sign a Mutual Protection Pact with any country which is not in an open war with any member state, if the Alliance Leadership and the other member states approve it. In any disputable case there should be a voting of simple majority about the possible MPP.
4. Generally ongoing battles in the original regions of the member states should have high priority, it can be modified with strong reasons.

As you might see, it’s clearly forbidden both to fight against any member country and to sign MPPs with countries at war with any member state. So if your aims, or your friends, differ from the ones of the Alliance you should think twice if you want to join or stay in your current position.

Finally, due to turkish agressions supporting our enemies and their last dispatch, the Government of Spain has no intention of cooperating with Turkey or letting Turkey join ONE as core members that we are, as we won’t tolerate any kind of threat or hostility towards our country.

It’s in Turkey’s hands to decide if they want to keep defaming and attacking core members of the Alliance instead of adopting a more diplomatic way and directing their efforts to enforce ONE instead of damaging it.

Sincerely,
