Glad we are back but still MAD.
Anthony Colby
Hello Ireland. I am very glad to be able to say that. IRELAND. We may only have one region but it is at least one region. A nation again. Good work by all who fought and especially to Bhane for his funding and fighting. He earned those medals.
Flying proud again.
Us having our country back still does not take away the anger at being wiped. Anyone else mad? Well you should be. It is humiliating to be wiped. To have the Union Flag flying over our capital is humiliating. Having the UK defeat us battle after battle is humiliating.
Now this is the part where I make people angry. And you should be angry.
Who is to blame for this humiliation? Who is at fault?
WE ARE!
Each and every one of us. All of Ireland, past and present. Every one of us who argued just to argue. Every one of us who didn't try just a little harder to make a plan work. Every one of us who criticized someone or put them down. All the things that caused divisions and an exodus of talent and spirit from the shores of Ireland. This is why we got wiped. A constant drain on our strength due to a lack of unity and more importantly a lack of PRIDE.
YES, PRIDE.
We do have pride in Ireland. Yes we do. But it is always as a member of a political party or the IA or the ICA or whatever. Not just as an IRISHMAN.
First and foremost in order to restore the nation of Ireland to something of her former self and to build for the future we need to instill some pride in being Irish. When we are proud of being Irish we are proud of our fellow Irishmen and women. We come to their defense. There should be no negative comments in articles written by our fellow citizens, even if you think it is the dumbest thing you have ever read. Especially if the trolls from the UK are commenting. Defend your fellow Irishmen. If you have to criticize then do it in private but still try to encourage. Don't drive wedges that lead to good people leaving or becoming two clickers.
Another thing we need to do is find out what these guys are doing right.
The Crimson Order.
We have lost many of our older more experienced citizens to Canada and to TCO. Why? What do they offer that we don't? We need to find out. We need to start doing something similar to get these people back. We need to be strong. Obviously TCO is doing something that makes this game fun for these people. We can to. We need to get these people back. We need to entice others to come here. We can do that by making it fun and instilling some pride in being Irish.
Thirdly I think we should make the UK feel like we do. Angry and frustrated. We can't hurt them militarily at this time but we can troll the heck out of them. I say piss them off to no end. We find the UK citizens that are the most vocal opponents to their government and we sub their papers. Agree with their articles. Vote their articles so that their voice gets a bigger audience. Sure they will troll back but so what?
We have always been more united when attacking the UK. We need to be united now and if this is the only way we can attack then so be it. A little unconventional but so what.
I say make them as mad as we can. Keep them distracted and on the defensive. Frustrate them. Make them feel at least some of what we have been feeling lately.
"But if we make them mad won't they get back at us?" some of you may be thinking. Well so what? What is the worst they can do?
Wipe us?
Been done. They can't do anything worse.
Anthony Colby.

It is all our fault for getting wiped but no one should be blamed. We share the responsibility equally. The government is not to blame nor the IA or the militias. Unity is what we need. Pride in being Irish. Not recriminations.
o7 Anthony, good article
Good article Anthony. United we stand.
Nice article

You kinda made me smile...
I disagree with some of your views, but this is true and very core of the problem:
"...an exodus of talent and spirit from the shores of Ireland. This is why we got wiped."
Reasons for that are much more complex than you state in text. Over the past year this game's turned into opposition of itself. It now requires payers, not players, people of material, not spiritual wealth, and ready to waste it on a game.
Also, war module and MPP rules are horribly unfair, every small country got wiped at least once, many of those bigger as well.
Me, I'm certain this game is dying rapidly, and I'm still here only to maintain connections with people I've met. TBH, we (Serbs) have achieved everything there was, making it difficult to find a motive to ride on.
If you still want to play, to compete, if you feel you can do better and this wasn't your last word, well - find a way to grow bigger.
I'm warning you, it takes a whole lot of hard work. Don't ever say "it can't be harder than this".
v
Yes Mare Magare I agree things are more complex. If I went into every reason why people leave then the article would be so long no one would read it. lol
The talent and spirit I am talking about are the people who leave Ireland but STILL play the game. Pay or not they still play. We need to get them back if they were here at one time and get others to come here. We need whatever it is that makes people WANT to go to a certain country to play. Nationalism can only get us so far. We need to instill some PRIDE in being eIrish.
And it won't be easy. It never has been and probably never will be.
But the eIrish have never shied away from hard work.
"But the eIrish have never shied away from hard work."
I embrace my inner "lazy bastard."
Hard work is too hard.
With all due respect, I must disagree. eIreland got wiped because of some poor decisions, and saying 'we share the responsibility equally' is simply untrue. Calls for unity are a nice way to get people moving. However, if decision makers are not being exposed to public scrutiny and are not forced to be hold accountable - poor decisions will keep being made and empty rhetorics will keep covering up for them. Ireland shouldn't stfu. Ireland should speak up instead.
You may think this is strange Stranger but I agree with you. I don't want Ireland to stfu. Never have never will. Calling out someone when they make a bad decision is necessary. But does it need to be done in public and so harshly that good people leave? We can be quite harsh in our criticisms of each other and then we lose good people. Having those Generals and Field Marshals and others as well as the lower ranks may have made a difference in at least one battle and caused the UK to lose momentum. You never can tell. My article was a rally cry. No policy initiatives or plans. I wanted to get people motivated. Nothing more. I put the blame on us all since we are all in this together. We don't need articles now blaming each other for these "poor decisions". We need some sense of unity. We will always have policy divisions and I want them. They lead to good ideas and new ideas. But we can work them out in private and put up a united front to the rest of the world.
Fully agreed.

Fully agree with article.
Couldn't agree more Anthony
I agree. Unity, strength and honour. Ireland is the people, and the people will always be there as a thorn in the back of the British!
