[DEBATE] New tax system proposal/ 새로운 세금 시스템 제안
just-me
After a long discussion on the congress chat(#eskcongress) we have reached a common point regarding the tax system. The plan is to change the taxes on pretty much everything based on the scheme that i will present next.
This tax system can suffer modifications so if you guys have other suggestions please write them in the comments.

The point of this article is just that, presenting our vision on the new taxes and discussing it furthermore before we could implement them.
이 기사의 목적은 새로운 세금에 대한 저희들의 비전을 소개하며 저희가 실행하기 전에 더욱 토론을 하기 위해서 입니다

voted, let's see the effects now.
The system looks promising.
I want to hear everyone else's opinions on this matter.
Increasing taxes doesn't seem problematic, as eSK right now has one of the lowest tax % in the world (not saying other countries are right and we are wrong, but something should be changed).
Numbers, however, are somewhat debatable...is my opinion, but I don't too much; which is why I want to hear other opinions.
Can't...translate to....Korean...too...tired....zzzz
yeah.. i see that this subject doesn't interest almost no one from the opposition.. too bad
Maybe they are not up yet xD
1. I don't see why we have to lower the income tax for iron and grain; we have 25% bonus on both of them, and I think we can manage.
2. What's the precise reason for raising the income tax?
Clarification pls
Tax Tax Tax, oh how I do love it.
Foo😛 10% VAT? if we have highest VAT there why not raise the others to the same level? That way we get 10% on all finished product sales and we can cause some well needed deflation.
Food, Iron and Grain: I think 99% import tax on them is a must! We have the supply of Grain, Iron and Food to last us a life time! So we should just push off all interest from outside the country.
Other than that it looks ok : D
@Sinclair: right now we spend more than we produce. besides that, we need to have a strategical amount of money deposited, all countries have one so that's a must.
as for the IMPORT tax(you meant import not income) for iron and grain: right now we have somewhere around 200 ppl with SK license so we must encourage them too. there were periods when we didn't had any grain or iron on the market. But maybe we don't need to lower the import on grain or iron.. or maybe on iron and not grain, we'll see.
Oh yes it was Import. Sorry for the typo 😉
Well, I (as an eSK citizen) care more about OUR companies and people, not people who spent 20 gold on licenses. Just my thought, but us buying from us seems to be better. As Dan said, food-grain-iron import tax 99% is a MUST, since those are our key products. And most newbies start off with raw materials or food; it will be bad for them if they have to compete with foreign products.
About the income tax: I still do not agree. Yes, we do need strategical amount of money, but 10% seems a bit harsh, as to the current tax. How about 7 or 8%?
maybe 8 would be fair.
about food-grain-iron i don't know what to say..i don't want SK to have a closed market, things could easily go wrong. maybe 99% on grain would be fine, but i think we have to modify it on iron at least and maybe at food.
8% should be fair, yes.
Grain should be 99%, and food too. I think we have enough food, at least. We have an (maybe almost) stable and active market for quality 1 to 5, except Q4 maybe. And as we don't have that many "food-consuming" battles, 99 import should be fine.
How about 50% for iron?
well the thing with import tax is that if it's over 20-25% maybe, no one will sell on that market. 50% or 99% it's still the same because no one will sell with that tax so at least for iron 10% i think will do. of course we need to hear other ideas too, it's not like we're going to make a decision right now and implement the system without reaching an agreement.
And about the "strategical money". Please keep in mind to REVEAL the way the money was used. Or you'll suffer from roland and the other's criticism about how the money was used. 🙂 And please, no more not-needed MPPs plz. I don't see why we need MPPs from big countries when there is only a TW going on.
i'll propose the idea of a balance sheet 🙂
@just-me: I didn't see you comment; yes, I think this can wait. I think the Income 8% and the VAT is ok, I only disagree about the Iron import.
Please keep in mind this is not the RL Korean's view; it is just mine. I think you'll hear from other Korean guys (like obamalucas, ScarletSoul, lcome, utoronto, etc etc) pretty soon.
Balance sheet seems to be OK. 😃
I think we should lower the VAT for both food and grain, while increasing the import tax of both, to force local production of food, the backbone of our economy/military strength. It's hard enough for newcomers as it is.
Taxes:
Why 25% for food and weapons and not 99%? Because at 25% the local economy still has a huge advantage over the imports but it is not impossible for someone outside eSK to use our economy.
Why 10% with bonus and 5% on raw without bonus? Our raw production for the moment seems to be much behind the finite products because of the productivity changes to high quality companies. They are not covering the production. And again at 10% there is still a big advantage for the local industry.
Why 10% at income and VAT? We need more currency circulation and to collect more money as we have more expenses per month. It is a normal thing to do and I think our economy is strong enough to support this growths.
In addition to all this a minimum salary increase should be don to at least 10KRW. The fiscal evasion is really high and this will help us bring more money from those that do it.
As side note increasing import taxes is not always the best solution. A balance number has to be found but I doubt we will see a flood of raw with the new taxes and if it will happen nothing can stop us into increasing them more till we get to the right numbers.
First of all, you should actually provide some estimation on your revenue streams, are you short of money or have too much money? What is the purpose of this overhaul? Increase revenue? Tax cut to encourage growth, just what is your aim?
I believe the last tax reform was done in a similar fashion, and I couldnt make out what you are trying to do by fiddling with the numbers.
A good starting point should be looking at your expense first, how many things are must have, how many things are optional and so on.
And then you look at your revenue streams and estimate how much money you are making. You guys have been running your government for so many month so you should have a fair idea, and this point, you should be able to make out of things you can paid for, and things you cant afford to do.
After all that, then your start fiddling the rate according to your aim, the items that you need to pay for, and the amount you are making.
@rolan😛 i said before in the comments that we will provide a balance sheet
The system seem pretty good.
Better that I'm finally see some collaboration between the two sides, Romanian and Korean.
Congratulations for just-me and obamalucas.
guys i'd focus on new resources taxation. we will have 7 new items to be taxed! We will have only grain and iron 25% and if god helps maybe deer, but this won;t help more then 4-5 people who own q5 bread companies. for these resources i;d put a nice import tax. but guess what, we will have a big problem with the ones we don't have the 25% prod bonus. here i'd classify them in 2 categories ones that are world wide abundant and their price is k, and other which are very rare and will be expensive: rubber, oil, and maybe also saltpaper, i presume.
it will be very interesting to see how our citizens will migrate their companies... we might find some surprises. Practically we will have to compare our prices with the worldwide prices and there, where sk has big margin, we lower as much as possible the import tax so we can produce cheaper final products.
We should increase the VAT tax for the old resources to stimulate the market towards the new ones.
This is a good idea, the debate, but unless you know gov income/expenditure it's just random guess work.
@Tudor I think there will not be any problems with migration or other resources. We already produce internally some oil and with the migrations I am sure the high quality products producers will make sure to migrate their raw firms correctly. We will have all kind of firms and the market will stabilize the prices for sure. Workers will move for the more demanded ones etc.
I see all this migration like an almost one to one migration.
About the taxes for the new raw: I would just put them in the same categories as any of those resources in the end can be produced internally.
@roland_up a small discussion has been done in a previous article and for the moment we spend more than we produce. While I don't have the purpose of justifying where the money went because I don't know exactly I do know that we need to gather more money in order to keep the normal functioning of the state as it is now.
I like 8% idea, but 10% seems almost needed for iron and grain. Raws are making more profit than actual products, which I see as a problem. With both of iron and grain bonuses, favoritism of raw companies, and absence of VAT on raw materials, I think raws can be taxed a tiny bit more.
