Kongressvalget april 2011

KONGRESSVALGET APRIL 2011
In August 2010, Finland helped us wipe Norway off the map so that all active wars against us were reset. This caused our political parties to become Finnish according to the rules at the time. As a gentleman's agreement, we decided to not reinstate the old parties, but rather create new ones to see if we could get a fresh start on Norwegian political life. As of April 2011, this agreement is obviously less alive than Donald Trump's hairdo. The question is wether few parties will dominate, or if we will actually keep a diverse political landscape in the time to come.

The running parties
Only the candidates of the top 5 parties will run on election day. Out of Norway's 9 political parties, these are participating in today's elections: Gullpartiet, Binary Party, Nasjonalistpartiet, Suum cuique and Frihet.

Divison of congress
Norway has 5 regions in these elections, which means that there is a total of 40 seats to be filled. From each of the five regions, the 7 candidates with most votes will be elected directly. The last 5 seats in congress will be filled by wildcard candidates. These are candidates who didn't make it to top 7 in their region but with enough votes to outrun wildcard candidates of other regions.

The numbers
For once, we have a situation where a good number of the running candidates will not be elected. For too long, the Norwegian congress has been filled by simple "walk-over". Whoever ran, would end up as a congress member. These are the candidate numbers per region:
