Seanlynch on internal affairs
seanlynch
Yes, I'm back,
I have made the decision to run again, after standing down only last night. Now, I'm sure that OJ and Conway will be leaving comments on how I am not deserving to run, and how this is s joke, but let me re-assure you, THIS IS NOT A JOKE! This is a serious Presidential campaign. I will break this into 3 sections : interanl affairs , foreign affairs and military affairs! So, this is my first part of my campaign, where I tell you about my goals for internal affairs in Ireland;
________________________________________________________________________________
So, as you know, Ireland has not been getting many new citizens on it's shore, and those that come don't stay! So a key element to my campaing is one of helping, educating and actually talking to our new citizens. This will be done by:
- HELPING: First of all, I'd like to congradulate Dan and CT on the wonderful new citizens message. And an integral part of getting new citizens to stay in Ireland after the first day is to get them active right away, which is why we need them on IRC and the national forums, where the community is. And it is here that we will get them active, keep them having fun and ensure they get eRepublik syndrome!
- EDUCATING: When they make it past the first day, they should be ready for more, and it is here that we need to teach them about eRepublik, by using 3 methods (Wiki, Guides and guilds).
First of all, we need the Wiki updated. So I will apoint a very capable and willing Minister of state (Wiki). This junior minister will be in charge of updating Ireland's Wiki, as I believe if a new citizen sees how interesting Ireland was, thay will be enticed to stay for the good times.
Secondly, the Minister of State (Education) Will be in charge of continuing to make fantastic new citizens guide, and I would try to get a new area in the new national forums for these guide links, for easy acess to this information.
Finally, the idea of guilds was raised by Dubhtaigh in the Dail last term. I believe it is a great concept, and if president, i would implement this iniative. It is a simple idea, where there would be 3 guilds (military, eceonomics and politics). Here, there would be a leader and helper's in the guilds. Their primary function is to get the new citizens who would chose which one's of these to join to give them an understanding of the area. These would be run by experienced players, and giving a chance to the less experienced to get involved too!
-TALKING TO OUT NEW CITIZENS: This is the most basic of concepts, instead of having a Minister of State (New Citizens) who sits back, I would look for one who is hands on, and will friend these citizens, and make contact with them. It is vitally impartant that we do so, and also to help them with any problems they may be having!
So, with the main aspect of New Citizens aout of the way, it paves the way for my next articles: seanlynch on Foreign Affairs and Seanlynch on military affairs.
And finally, I invite all other candidates to a debate on the national forums, contact me, and I'll set it up, if you dare
Go raibh míle maith agat,
seanlynch
Edit:
I am looking for cabinet minister's in the following areas:
-Minister of Foreign Affairs
-Minister of Defense
-Minister of Immigration
-Minister of New citizens (promoted to the cabinet)
-Minister of Finance
-Minister of State
+Wiki
+Education
+community
+Communication (Remember Minister of Information, well it's a re-vamped one.)
Each minister will be able to appoint junior minister's at their deigression, to teach or to divide work-loads. Any Irish citizen can apply, and there is no limit to the number of positions one can apply for.

best candidate so far
Forum debates are generally held on IRC.
Not saying that I am backing down from a debate, however a forum debate is a rather silly idea people could just edit former posts or spring a bunch of flash pictures to represent concepts, not to mention people could easily cut in.
yeah, I see your point Dan, I suppose an IRC debate is a better option then!

Good luck Sean.
Good Luck Sean
Good luck
Good luck, also I would love to see the Debate.
Good luck, Sean.
oh dear god
Sean you've blown what me and OJ said way out of proportion. Good luck however and grow a pair
Good luck Sean, the debate should be a good laugh.
It's gas how one line from ibhoy can change the tone.
Sean, I'm just going to copy and paste my comment that I left on Conway's article, because it's equally appropriate here:
"can't run if you don't have ur
Sean, no offence, but that should be obvious. This article may be a little harsh - if not funny - but at least try and take some ministerial roles first. Everything I've seen you do in this game so far has led to you moaning about not getting your own way See: ICA and SoE. I don't think you re cut out for CP. Not yet anyway.
I don't believe that there are prerequisites to running for CP. Of course past experience is the most important factor to consider when you try to measure candidates (actions speak louder than words), but if we don't give newer players a chance, how can Ireland ever be democratic and fair in the truest sense. I think Sean has presented some amazing ideas here. The idea about guilds is very good, and I always look forward to increased participation on the wiki. Even if experience is to hold this individual back, these ideas need to be considered.
The "guilds" idea is great. But it's not Sean's idea.
Gluck
Good luck!
sorry, did I not clarify it, it is fully Dub's idea!
Nice article, good luck with the run. You sound like a promising president.
Needs a little soothing jazz in the background, and a picture or two!... pretty impressive roundup of ideas.
