Southeast Asia

Let's face it, if the ePhilippines had come to eSingapore presenting an option to merge with the pros and cons listed, it would at least be taken into consideration. In all reality, it is not a bad idea. I personally like the idea. This article is meant not so much to convince you to go for a merger, but instead to at least consider the idea, and not just throw it out the window.
Pros.
• The congress size of a country with 8 regions is 40. This means 4 members per region and 8 wildcards. Compared to the current 10/region, this means that PTOing the country will be harder
• Were as now, each country would need to get an MPP for itself to have training wars, a united Southeast Asia would only need one.
• Not only could we MPP for training wars, we could have RWs.
• The resources of the 8 regions would be available to anyone in the region, and Southeast Asia may be able to become more independent of other nations.
• The populations of all three countries would be able to work together.
Cons.
• It costs quite a bit.
• The national identities of eSingapore and eMalaysia would be lost.
• People who are adamantly against this will be offended.
No-one so far has really been rational when it comes to this whole issue. I merely wanted to present some of the logic behind such a move, and against it.
Just a side note, I would notion to have the country no longer officially recognized as the ePhilippines, but as the Federation of Southeast Asia, or something along those lines.

I like the idea and have thought about it before. I have, however, never been very loyal to a name or a country itself but rather the people that make up that country. Also, I'm an American IRL so I have an even smaller say in this. However, I truly believe the Pros greatly outweigh the Cons in this and if it ever became apparent that this was possible, I would support it completely.
Cons: It would result in open citizenship if we dont have congress election thus resulting in more PTOs. Would be okish if we make sure open citizenship will not occur
^teming said what i wanted to say.
additionally, how can we ensure that the filipinos would give the singaporeans and malaysians equal say in national affairs?
besides, it might cause trouble in eSing considering how many of us are RL singaporeans. Many of us RL Singaporeans have friends who would probably join only if there was eSG in game.

I say we bring East Timor to the game and merge under it. 🙂

This is what I fear. If we merge, then there is no going back unless we succeed to cause a huge Baby Boom which can secure our indepence when we free Singapore City.
Oh god another CzechoSloakia thing. Now it's southeast Asia. Believe me it won't work. People went against this whwen it was Czechoslovakia people disagreeing and they had to force merge by using Poland. In my experience I wouldn't do it but it could help us. Like more regions so we have more resources so a bigger economy. Harder for others to take us over. More people. So I agree with this it brings alot of benifits. Just don't think that everyone will agree.
I don't agree, that's for one. If there will be any merger, it will be with Malaysia, and they will merge under us. Our economy is stronger atm.
The ePhilippines has a stronger economy than us, or at least it seems like it.
I'm no expert at economy but it is obvious that the only problem with eSingapore is workers.
merge? only under us
Philippines isn't a nation we want to merge under,
it hasn't a stronger anything. Just Jelly is ruining their nation atm.... The seeds he sows today, will be reaped with poison tommorow.
THe only way to do it, is if we conquer them.I'm against any other option!
Do we have chances of that?
We're having fun is all I have to say at the moment.
I'm willing to meet with all of you, talk this out and reconsider since it seems the majority of you actually are angry about the lulz that could be had
😁 righ, the lulz that could leave us without a congress and open for PTO, as well as possibly destroying our new-found economic structure.
If the three countries where going to merge, the mos reasonable option would be under the Philippine flag, simply because they have the most regions (cheaper to merge). This saddens me, since i have always lived in Singapore, but if we did merge, we would have 1 high oil region, and 2 high stone regions.
Another idea: With our increased strength (1400 citizens) we could attack Taiwan, who has a population of 782. Thats 2 to 1 in our favor, and odds are we would win. Of course, we wouldn't gain any good regions though.
If none of this is possible, i would like to propose another idea: Singapore gets Peninsualr Malaysia, and the Philipines gets Sarawak (or vice-versa) , with the Malaysian consent, of course. It would give Singapore a 260 citizen boost, which would help our country greatly. Also, Singapore has always needed at leas one high raw region, and never had it.
40 Congress seats .. not a ton of more active players tbh. = greater PTO threat then we have now. We have an advantage that with 10 seats it's actually easier for us to protect ourselves and that's why we have never had a successful PTO since the first month we existed.
Same story as always, big neighbor trying to strong arm us. This issue comes up every few months when a neighbor tests our resolve. Most people that been around wont agree to this. There isn't much to gain from this merge. Both Phili & Malay have always had greater PTO failures then Sing has and to merge with them brings those woes upon us.
Your populations simply are not great enough to make this worth while for us to lose our independence. Especially since we will pretty much fall to the wayside.
I see more fun keeping our nation. Bring it on, we got bigger guns and more gold. This should be fun, May Dio smite you and your evil ilk!
*Pokes Jelly with a stick*
WE WILL BURY YOU!
well eSingapore is not constantly under huge PTO threat because you have no high region, so no incentive for others to come to take over, not because you're far superior or so
actually i had exactly the same idea as leo when i was taking a shower. Taking peninsular malaysia would actually be good for both parties, so that we have a more secure congress, while the phillipines gets the high stone; it's easier for both of us to defend, then we can sign an mpp between sg and phil.
@TeMing: correction, during the past year, there was a period of time where we were under constant PTO attacks, simply because people think that "oh, it'd be quite lulzy to pto a tiny island, so let's do it".
Don't think it's a good ideea... not because of the name of the merging country, but because of the game-mechanics. Let eSingapore get on with its life for now.
ePhillipines is in war with eMalaysia.. Sabah succumbed to Phillipines. eSingapore must make alliance with eMalaysia and eIndonesia and eSingapore to be made Capital. ePhillipinnes MUST return all the lands belonged to Malaysia. Also we also would like a unity with ePhillippines and form the UNITED NUSANTARA.
what the...
The thing is that ePhil and eMY are attempting a merger.
yea, and if we had a Malaysian region, we could have resistance wars all the time for a pretty low cost, and i could actually get some military experience for once.
Once again, ignorant outsiders making accusations they know nothing about.
TeMing, learn some history before you blurt random falsities about some one else's abode. People quite often attempt PTO for whatever reasons from "easy" gold, to "easy" land for themselves, to just doing it because they "can" or are bored.
We have had no less then 8 major PTO group conspiracy attempts since inception. And plenty of smaller scale ones as well from less organized groups.
Only once have we failed in defending our home and that was before the citizenship module existed. So you see we don't much like losing our ability to control Citizenship.
We've had more than half of congress under PTO multiple times, but never for a long period.
no single PTO group has taken more then half .. but there were 2 separate groups that combine had more then half, yes.
The thing about the merger is that the three countries would be one, instead of three. So that means that if anyone wanted citizenship, they would apply to whichever country the merger was under. You're arguing about people being able to PTO a country that would be non-existent at the time.
If eSingapore did come back, then yes, preventing a PTO would be problematic, but that would not be a concern of making a nation, as you don't make one planning ahead for it to fail, do you?
Also, currently ePH has 40 congress members for it's 4 regions. With SEA as one country, there would be 40 congress members for 8 regions. Looking at population, this is a lower number of congressmen/citizen. This means that PTO'ing would be harder.
That is the point I was trying to make. I fully accept that protecting Singapore coming back from a merger would be a pain, but that is not something that would be a problem as long as the merger was not broken.
Don't Please Don't!
