Yesterday and today, [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/profile-138641.html]Lakrisa [/a], who originally signed on as a UK citizen, swindled 3000£ from the UK government and then moved to his home country of Sweden, wrote a series of articles describing how he did it.

He outlines the entire incident in his newspaper, [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/company-31942.html]Lakrisal News[/a], in three short articles. In these articles he explains how he signed on as a UK citizen, joined their forums as a UK citizen, got appointed as Health Minister and then promptly moved to Sweden with the money.

[a url=http://www.erepublik.com/profile-12690.html]Final Destiny[/a], Vice President of the UK's Unity Party issued this statement on [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/forum-topic-17341.html]the forums[/a]:
"I can confirm this happened. Once again I would like to thank the Swedish government for returning the money."

"As Vice-President of The Unity Party I can confirm we are reviewing the whole government structure so this we can avoid this situation in the future."

This is a great example of the short comings of the eRepublik system, and also the importance of writing contracts. Although the Swedish government eventually returned the money to the UK and issued an official apology, we can't forget that we're running on the honor system.

PS- I can't find the official apology from Sweden. If anyone can find it and post it here, that'd be helpful.
