[TUP] Announcing Unity Welcome Baskets
The Unity Party
Official TUP article. Please help us by voting and subbing!
The Unity Party is a democratic socialist party. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many not the few; where the rights we enjoy reflect the duties we owe and where we live together freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect.
Taken from The Unity Party constitution.
This clause, one of the first in our Constitution, is essential to how The Unity Party functions. It underpins everything we do with regard to policy making, legislative discussion and executive decisions – in simple terms, this clause defines The Unity Party.
What it means is quite simple. This short statement is talking about empowering the individual to do more than they could alone, about the every-day, hard working citizen to be able to afford life’s luxuries and for the path to promotion, to self-betterment on the back of one’s own work, to be open to all. The Unity Party is therefore about giving every citizen the right tools, experience and inspiration to succeed in their eLife and to take their eCareer wherever they want.
Already we have many devices in place to help citizens progress up the ladder. We run The Unity Food Programme, providing economic support for players from all political parties, we are renowned for our new-player friendly forums, where discussions are always ongoing for new members to post in. Even our IRC channel is full of Presidents, Ministers, Head economists and even SGs of Phoenix, who inspire and aid all of our newer citizens to achieve their full potential.
Perhaps the biggest step any citizen can take towards empowering themselves further in eRepublik is joining the eUK forums. The eUK forums are where every major decision concerning the eUK takes place. Every political party has a forum there, all of the government ministries run from there and in order to become seriously involved with politics, journalism, or indeed any sphere within eRepublik, the eUK forums are the vital first stepping stone. However, despite the massive benefits of being on the forums, a large number of eUK citizens remain unaware of them or are simply not able to see the full benefits of signing up. While not every citizen will become happier from signing up, many will, and lots of senior figures today wish that they’d signed up and got involved with the eUK forums earlier than they did (myself included).
In order to encourage more citizens to use the eUK forums and better their own positions, The Unity Party has today launched the Unity Welcome Basket scheme. This scheme is aimed at increasing the incentives for signing up to the forums, increasing awareness of the benefits and also to make the forums more friendly towards newer players.
Here’s how the scheme works:
In order to get your Unity Welcome Basket, all you need to do is sign up to the eUK forums and make a post in this thread by filling out the form in the first post (don’t worry, you only need to link your in-game profile and tell us why you signed up to the forums).
Each welcome basket contains:
- 7 x Q2 food (4 wellness/2 happiness)
- 1 x Q1 helicopter
- 1 x Moving Ticket (if you're outside London)
To receive your Unity Welcome Basket, you must be a citizen of the eUK ingame and have recently made a forums account (i.e. within the last month or so). Citizens from all parties and all in-game levels are encouraged to apply for their basket, however we must limit it to one per person
If you would like more information about this scheme or The Unity Party as a whole, please do not hesitate to contact the owner of this newspaper (The Unity Party) or myself.

"Have some food, all we ask in return is for you to join TUP"
Nice way to try and smear some honest people trying to help out Steinbeck. Actually people from all parties and none apply for our programs, and they just get stuff without question.
It's a good intiative, maybe you trolls from other parties could be doing somthing to further your own parties, other than trolling of course.
Gimme box of bread.
Oh look, another desperate grab for players. It's called emotional blackmail, and it reeks of Keers.
I think you're insulting the intelligence of people who play this game if you think they are bribed by some free items. They make their own choices. And tbh, if I was a new player reading this article, I'd be more put off RFA and UKRP because of their trolling than I would be attracted to TUP.
Way to shoot yourself in the foot.
😁 😮
Tomazim is really extra-angsty recently.
Spare me the crap Iain. You're not 'honest people trying to help out'. It's a party political tool in an attempt to indirectly recruit new players.
Steve, you really are cynical! We're socialists. We are simply trying to help people out as always. UKRP could always try helping people out too but I suspect they are far too busy as individuals lining their own pockets at the expense of the newer player.
Our schemes are open to people from ALL parties and those with no political allegiance. A great deal of UKRP members have benefitted from our schemes and we're pleased that we have been able to help them.
Dig deep and try helping people yourself rather than criticising those that do.
For anyone who is again unsure - you don't have to actually join the party to get the above welcome basket or avail of The Unity food Program (TUfP)
It is free assuming you meet the criteria of UK citizenship (There is a level limit or UK Army membership required for TUfP) - no strings attached whatsoever.
Anyone who has used TUfP in the past will attest to this.
I'd like to point out that not all Steve's are this miserable and bitter.
Some of us are medicated.
Now's the time we should be helpin new players the most. There's only about 4000 of us left in the eUK. Everyone should get behind stuff like this.
hmmm where have I seen this before?
If this really is all about helping new players, and not about roping people into TUP, why stick the TUP label on it? Why not make it a charitable organisation where anybody can offer to help out? Why limit it to TUP running the show?
At the end of the day it's there to make TUP look good to new players. You can blab on about socialism and helping people all you want, but it's there as a recruitment tool.
Steve, I fully encourage the UKRP to make a similar programme - it would even things out and help the country even more. Please, whilst you attempt to slander The Unity Party for helping new players, remember that we are all in politics to help the United Kingdom 🙂 Perhaps it is a subject that should be looked at in the UKRP - I know I speak for a lot of TUPers when I say we would be very happy to see the UKRP helping new players.
Steve, plenty of people apply who are from UKRP and have no intention of ever joining TUP. We don't even look at party- at least I don't. We just check level and citizenship and send them out.
Why is TUP doing it and nobody else? Good question- I think the answer lies in that nobody else so far has been willing to put their own money on the line.
If you are going to be so silly as to suggest that being a good person or helping players should be banned because it makes the people do it appear to be generous and thoughtful then you really are a scrooge.
hi I'm new here, I like london. how so that I can help this country
