Military Maneuvers And More
This article will answer most if not all of your military related questions for V2. I found my answer on BETA and WIKI, so forgive me if they do not match V2... Get your pencils ready! At the end of this article WIKI links will be provided for everything Military...
In Battle
For those who have forgotten here is the list of Unit vs Unit Advantage with no terrain influence:
Rifles: +20 attack points against Artillery
Tank: +20 attack points against Rifles
Air unit: +20 attack points against Tank
Artillery: +20 attack points against Air unit
You can still compensate these advantages by moving into certain terrains and receive a Defensive Bonus. The unit and terrain bonuses can make a different in the heat of battle but they will not give you a guaranteed win against the unit you have an advantage over. Terrain and unit advantages increase the chance to hit your opponent or decrease the chance you get hit by a little. So Don’t Get Cocky. Here are the Terrains and their Bonuses:
Bridge – No Advantage
Cities – Artillery + 20 Defense points
Forest – Rifles + 20 Defense points
Hill – Tank + 20 Defense points
Mountain – No Advantage
Plain – Air + 20 Defense points
Water – No Advantage
Deployment and movement is determined by military type and terrain:
Forest – All Units
Hill – All Units
Mountain – Rifles and Air Units
Plain – All Units
Water – Air Units
Air Units can move 3 tiles per turn
Tanks can move 2 tiles per turn.
Rifles and Artillery can move 1 tile per turn.
(Please let me know what your experiences with the different terrains using various units, especially from the city.)

Weapons[/size]
A weapon customized to deal very high damage might have a lower hit chance because fewer customization points were left to spend on the Attack or Defense values. Conclusion: there is no “one ring to rule them all” story with weapons and advantages. Here is a break down of each weapon by component and what it means to you in a fight:
Tank:
Ammunition = Damage
Barrel = Attack Rating (chance of hits)
Body = Defense Rating (chance of misses)
Engine = Durability (# of Fights)
Air Units:
Ammunition = Damage
Missiles = Attack Rating (chance of hits)
Body = Defense Rating (chance of misses)
Engine = Durability (# of Fights)
Rifles:
Ammunition = Damage
Barrel = Attack Rating (chance of hits)
Frame = Defense Rating (chance of misses)
Rifle Butt = Durability (# of Fights)
Artillery:
Ammunition = Damage
Barrel = Attack Rating (chance of hits)
Body = Defense Rating (chance of misses)
Engine = Durability (# of Fights)

I hope you do not think your weapon and type are the only variables that have a baring on the outcome of the battles. Your Military Rank gives you an advantage in the PvP battles. Military rank defines the chance to deal critical damage. The higher your rank is, the higher chance you have to deal critical damage. to see the breakdown click here to see the WIKI page.

the battlefield types are not known at this time or at least there is no screenshot of them.
We have only a few more days of "peace"

I agree with Glove. I chose tank because I thought they were going to get the advantage in the most abundant terrain, plain, on the map. Oh well...
