The Blayde Administration - July 2010

Day 960, 12:41 Published in South Africa South Africa by Stryke Blayde

Long Article, please bear with me 🙂

Hello South Africa

Well, Rising's here, and while I'll get FP for saying what I think of it so far, I understand a deeper meaning of it. It starts a new beginning, a new way of doing things. It'll allow for more.........uh........I don't think I can keep sweet-talking about Rising, I'm going to go ahead and stop that here.

However, something has changed which I do want to talk about, and that is the great work of our Minister of Security, and the cooperation citizens of South Africa had in making sure the two legit South Africans had control of 1st and 2nd place in the Election. Now, in the event Congress happens to be taken over by PTO'ers, we still have a South African as CP after the impeachment. As you'll notice, the standings show that SamGibz managed to place 2nd, with 84 votes. You'll also notice that I, Stryke Blayde, am the new South African President.

Now, I'll get right to the point: This is going to be a rough month. With Rising starting right off the bat, all of the habits, all of the daily rituals, they're out the window. In their place are all sorts of sliders, new looks, complicated procedures, and no doubt every country of eRepublik will start in a free-fall. This term, every president's main goal is to make this free-fall organized enough to keep their nation alive at the end of this term.

Doing that requires a capable Cabinet, and a capable Cabinet requires capable people. I had a Cabinet Form that many people filled out, and while I wished more people had filled it our for a more diverse selection, I got people I believe are completely capable of stopping this free-fall.

---Ministry of Defense:
===Minister: Issues
Some people may not know this guy. He's been involved with 3 different militaries, held many positions of authority, and his activity permits him to be able to respond to any possible threats in the blink of an eye.
Deputy Minister: Brinn10
2-time Congress Speaker, helped to construct the Congressional Procedures Act, I see no reason why Brinn isn't qualified to help Issues as the Deputy Minister of Defense. I know Brinn, and I know he's dedicated to whatever he works on.

---Ministry of Security:
===Minister: Mulderpf
What can I say about Mulder? He's dedicated, he's great, easily the best Minister of Security South Africa has ever had, and I trust no one else more to handle the security issues of South Africa than Mulder. He's prevented several PTO attempts with utmost priority, and he will do no different this term.
Deputy Minister: Chucker71
I know Chucker fairly well. I know what he's done as of yet, and I know that he's one of the few people that're capable enough to continue the line of Ministers of Security, and I believe whole-heartedly that he's perfect for the Deputy position.
---Director of Intelligence: marcog2
Newer player, who works hard to make this country better. Mulder places his confidence in Marcog, and knows he will be great.
---Director of Immigration: Conrad Dietoten
This person has been assisting and leading the Immigration Department for awhile now, and I find that he is great for the job.

Ministry of Finance
===Minister: Lazer Fazer
Ah, Lazer, the one who watches over the economy. With Rising completely redefining how the economic module works, adjusting and working with it is an absolute must. I've seen Lazer's work, and I know he places this at a top priority, and I know he has the best means to get the job done right.
Deputy Minister: Ari Lumumba
Ari is dedicated. Serving as Director of Trade for a couple of terms, I'm sure he's capable of serving as Deputy Minister of Trade. Also, Ari is still working as Director of Trade while working as Deputy Minister. Lazer knows exactly what Ari is capable of, and he knows that Ari is able to work both positions.
---Director of Government Companies: Ovidiusza
He's been in this position for awhile now, assisting the country however he can. I've seen some of his work, and I know what he currently has to contend with, and I'm confident that he will get the job done.

Ministry of Social Development
===Minister: Grimstone
Grimstone has been working under Dycey Farley for two terms as Deputy now, and I feel as though it's time for Grim to give it his best as Minister. I've seen the work that's come out of the MoSD, and I know Grim will be able to raise the bar on the Ministry's involvement in South Africa.
Deputy Minister: Micheal Dell
I've seen Micheal work, and I know Grimstone has as well. We both feel that Micheal will be able to assist Grimstone in working on new ideas, and I feel Micheal will make a great Deputy this term.
---Director of Mentorship: Golgavar
I've seen this man's work, and I can safely say he is right for the job. I don't even need to say anything else, his work speaks for himself.
---Director of Fun: LiquidIce
I've spoken to LiquidIce several times, and I know she's fully capable of running the Department of Fun. I'm certain she already has ideas on how to bring excitement into the term.

As you'll notice, I'm missing a couple of Ministries. The Foreign Affairs, and the Information Minstries, are both not finalized as of yet, and I'll be sure to bring them to light my very next article. As for the other two, which are the Tourism and Internal Affairs ministries, there's an explanation for these two.

The Ministry of Tourism, on paper, is a great idea. Advertising the country's wages and living conditions, allowing people to move here to work and increase our economy. Realisticly, however, it wasn't as great as one would think. The Ministry saw minimal success, was reported repeatedly for spam, and was expensive. The results were just not good enough considering the time and effort needed to run it.

The Internal Affairs ministry is somewhat different. It did work, as it allowed the CP to focus on other things, while the MoIA kept an eye on the other ministries, to see who was working, who wasn't, things like that. However, I decided to, instead of having a Ministry dedicated to it, to instead allow the Vice President to have these responsibilities by default. I've noticed that Vice Presidents don't have as much responsibilities as the CP, so they are somewhat prone to slacking off. This merge should prevent that, and make the VP spot have a little more authority.

As to my Vice President, I've thought on this for awhile, and I've come to the conclusion that SamGibz be my Vice President. He is, by game mechanics, the next in line in the event I was unable to lead, or in the event I was impeached. Also, he is very intelligent, with me and him talking on ideas constantly, always trying to think of ways to improve the conutry. Also, with him as VP, and the one getting CP in the event I'm impeached, he'll be able to carry on the work currently being done with minimal lag from the transition. I have no doubt that he'll be a great VP this term.

With this, I leave you with a message. This month will be rough, I won't deny it. However, as long as we all work together, each of us making small sacrifices, such as a little ZAR to the RBSA or to a similar government outfit, participating in things such as the Dept. of Mentorship, or anything else like this, we will be sure to prosper. If you allow other people to do the work you could easily be doing yourself, it gets you and the country nowhere. We all have to work together for ourselves, our friends, and South Africa.

Yours truly,
Stryke Blayde
South African President
