Fae's Two Yen

Day 924, 16:18 Published in Japan Japan by Faeyas

This election looks a lot more complicated than it really is. You see articles and ads concerning which of the "bad" candidates is the "best" choice. You see everything from candidates who feel that they are being bloc-ed into the role, to candidates who fought diligently for our support.

Yet all these candidates are lumped together and are considered "bad".

I ask you all to take another look.

The Black Sheep

My Party, the SSS is supporting Shimiken, but personally I have been supporting Nowe. This is vaguely odd since I am the Party President of SSS, and usually go along with what my party says on all accounts.

I have done my part to support those 15 in the party that wrote back to Dia or posted on our forums that they wanted Shimiken by placing his name as our party candidate.

For this election I believe that may be my limit. Shimiken is a good player, he is dedicated, and knows a lot about economics. He is kind, and always wants people to be happy so on and so forth.

So he isn't a bad guy, really he isn't. He has been a good dedicated member of SSS. He is Stable, he has experience running companies, he is always around and always trying to do something.

I just don't care for his platform and ideas... or semi lack there of.

Granted the over whelming support was likely due to a minor issue with a massive PM that I should have caught before it was sent out... but I made my bed here so I'm laying in it. Doesn't mean I need to vote with it.

Nowe

If anyone took a moment to remove themselves from the fact that Nowe attacked me and my leadership in SSS just before these articles, and spent the time needed to read about Nowe's plans for President, they might have seen a few things that would have given away my support for him.

First of all the deputy/ vice position is something I have been advocating for, for a while now. The idea is to get new players involved in a progressively more responsible role in eJapan, opening doors for activity and involvement. It further allows for diversity in who we can choose for such roles. Meaning we wont trap a poor player in the role for months and months until they up and quit on us and we are forced to toss new blood in.

My VP, PDN and I were discussing the benefits of removing the Ministry of Culture and Events just recently, and I feel that in Nowe's platform, his idea to get rid of the entity is a good thing. This allows Parties to hold events freely without stepping on the governments toes, it removes an entity that essentially ran empress day and no one else could figure out how to do more with it in a month's time.

The position itself if cursed. You get it and your RL gets instantly busy. No one who has had the job has really ever been able to do well with it since it was originally created. The position is not taken seriously anymore for these reasons as well as the fact that it has become a "political" position, in that Presidents put people into the role to ensure that all top five parties are accounted for somewhere in leadership.

Its a joke honestly. As someone who enjoys running events, I feel I can say this without bias. This department is a joke, and it needs to go.

Nowe's ideas favor my own stances, and even if nowe is harsh on me from time to time we eventually get along.

Dokomo

I will upfront inform you all that I did not support the actions Dokomo took for V2 of Kyushu retreat.

That said, Dokomo is running and is planning on working mainly off of Nowe's platform. Nowe supports dokomo and has put his backing behind him.

True to the "deputy" form, Nowe will be taken up as Dokomo's second in order to "learn the ropes" as to be a better candidate in the future.

Dokomo has also done a number of things as of late that make me feel that he would be a good leader, such as helping maintain peace in IRC despite the recent rise in trollinng.

Thus because of this and Nowe's request, I personally will be supporting Dokomo this election.

However as Party President I will respect my party's wishes and support Shimiken, again, someone who is dear to my party and a capable and stable candidate.
