Counter-Takeover

Day 907, 05:54 Published in Austria Austria by Rangeley

In the aftermath of our previous measures intended to block the Croatian takeover, the takeover stepped up their game. They overloaded the treasury with ATS - over 170,000 - knowing that any defense system could only sell for only 99,999 ATS and no more. In other words, we would only be able to protect that much in a proposal, while roughly 70,000 ATS could be stolen. This would have been once again unacceptable, and therefore we needed to step up our game too. As such, we arranged a deal with the nation of Slovenia to temporarily lose enough regions to bring the total in the treasury below 99,999. We would give them enough ATS to repay them for the cost of battles, while the remainder would be returned to Austria.

This plan was put into action yesterday, and succeeded in its intended goal of reducing the number of ATS in the treasury to a safe level. Territories will be returned eventually, and this temporary loss of regions is by no means a betrayal from Slovenia. Rather, it is the result of some close cooperation against a takeover threat, who endangers not just Austria, but the region as a whole. I would like to thank President Blaz Gutman of Slovenia in particular for his help, but also the entire nation of Slovenia for their participation.

Once again, the Austrian Government is aware of the inconveniences caused by the takeover, and our response to it. Services will be provided to aid anyone in moving - although with the tax increases and a haywire congress, there may be some benefit in remaining in Slovenian held regions for the time. In any event, you can contact the Austrian Red Cross for a moving ticket. And with today being the Party President election day, it is an opportunity to once again deal a blow to this takeover. Please contact Fragreg if you are interested in helping the effort.
