It was good while it lasted

Hullo my dear eIndians & all friends!
As some of you are already aware, I am nearing the end of my journey here in eRepublik. Its been 352 days since I joined this game, this wonderful community to which I owe more than just a place where I had a good time. I've actually learnt lots from it, from my interactions with some gems of people, had good fun, and have discovered a love for my country itself, that I had never known before.

Why are you quitting, dude?
Well, I've mentioned this before - nonetheless - I've been working on a RL project over the past few months that has been keeping me occupied more than ever before. I had initially thought I'd keep on 2-clicking, and 'come back' once I had more time on my hands. Along with that, and to probably further facilitate my decision, I was having trouble accepting some attitudes - specifically the lack of interest/ initiative to take up responsibility (& I don't just mean positions in Government/parties) in the majority of players in eIndia. It was becoming quite taxing for the handful of us who WERE working our butts off. This is after all a game, and no one is obliged to do so, but when everyone does not share your same level of enthusiasm, and to put it simply 'play becomes work' (as it was & still is for some of us here) - you lose out the joy & zeal for the game or anything else in life for that matter.

This led to me to take a less than active role in the game. I went into Zombie mode, 2-clicking as they call it; moving all over the world, working/training/fighting when I could. The point is - why can't I continue 2-clicking?

Well simply cos I'm not built like that. Call me old-fashioned - but medals & achievements mean not much to me. My primary focus has been the community & being part of, and contributing what little I could to the eIndian community has been by far one of the most joyous things in my life' believe me or not.

2-clicking meant that I'd be there - playing selfishly, without taking part; still caring as much as ever for the community, yet not actively contributing even an ounce to its welfare. Well, it might seem odd to most, but that's just not my style. 🙂

Currently on RL front, I'm broke & on the look-out for a stable job to boost my finances. The film I am/was working on is on hold due to lack of funds & infrastructure. I really need to go all out to build up my profile as well as funds to get this dream project of mine done. One could say my life depends on it.

So since I can't do anything halfheartedly, I'd rather not do it at all & that applies to eRepublik as well. I'll be 'quitting' if you can call it that, sometime next week after tying up some loose ends.

As I said, I've had the most wonderful time here, and there are certain things I'd like to do before I'm done & out. This is not my farewell article, if there shall be one such. But there will be a couple of other articles before you're rid off me for good. 😛

So what's the big deal?
Nothing really. I just wish I could have done more & been more. That's all.

If there is anything you'd wish to convey to me, any complains heheh.. well feel free to do so by the next few days. I'll try & finish my Wiki page by this weekend, as well as for some of my dear friends - David, Shail, Sumit, Navin, Ashwam & others. Also some of the documents I had worked on but never got to publish; will be out, including my work on the Constitution of eIndia, an ATO guide and some other stuff which might or might not be of use.

On a different note, while I AM leaving, I am not much good at 'goodbye's; so don't really expect any such.
