eUS Congress on FFFIIIRRREEE!!!!

So after reading Ligtreb's latest article I had to write a counter argument. I agree that the discussion on this massive tax change should've been public and sydiot is correct in saying public debate has been going on for two months on many different threads and on IRC. Those two items being said...it's time we actually realize what is going on!!!
CONGRESS IS ACTUALLY DOING A CRAP LOAD OF STUFF!!!
This is my third term and finally I am seeing non stop debate, solid IRC/Forum discussion, regular senators taking leadership upon themselves, new senators stepping up their game with proposals/voting records/IRC discussion/forum discussion. I am very very proud of my fellow senators for getting work done. This could be the best term I have seen in my eLife so instead of trashing the oversight of not making a thread public, I'd like to say nice job, give a thumbs up, smack a bum, give a fist bump to all those that are making this 27th session of the eUS congress a productive one.
Sure you might not agree with all that has been done in the first week (new constitution(I voted no), new tax plans (I voted yes)) but debate is happening, your senators are being proactive, and their dedication has been tested, will continue to be tested, but for now, many are rising to the occasion. Well done!

I dont think we can overlook the oversight, but the activity is definitely a plus.
wouldn't it have been better for a pro article to have been distributed before a con article, though?
I love how quick this has spanned into the media...
I am neutral on the topic since I do not have all the information, but I believe a strong arguement for and against this proposal should have been aired by congressional members before a negative by an informed outsider. particular bits of info like how the new rate of 50% was settled upon. You need to lay on strong PR or something like higher taxes is going to create alot of misplaced anger in people that might not have been angry if they knew the topic better.
Congress is doing plenty, I never said you weren't.
I just wish Congress were more open.
Any informed citizen already knew the topic well. It's been debated on IRC's and our Forum in public channels for months. And notice I said I agree with the idea that is should've been open for view but we need to see that Congress is moving in the right direction with action and productivity.
Plus, no new Zolis!
**LOL** @ Syrup!
a highly active Congress is definitely a step in the right direction.
Force Stormin into Exile! He is no friends of the People!!!1!!!

Problem is that anyone with a RW job doesn't have time to spend on all of these outside the game areas to become informed. All the stuff discussed in these areas needs to happen inside the game. Problem is only the Admins can make those changes.
Snake I kind of get where you are headed with this and I agree, we players have zero power to add all the out of game changes into the main game (that would blow up the server FYI).
