Sic Transit Gloria Mundi
SledDog
The title means "All glory is fleeting." In the January election I had the highest vote total of any congressional candidate. Yesterday I fell two votes short of a wildcard slot. C'est la vie - that's life. Or as some sports friends of mine say, you're only as good as your last game, and my last game fell just short.
Except of course it wasn't my last game. Expect me back in March, and April and as long as I stay interested in eRepublic. Because I like the work of being in Congress and helping to shape the experience for other players even just a little. Besides, I find it mentally stimulating. Meanwhile I intend to take some time out to work on outside interests, like the TV blog that I write, improving my Poker game, and doing some recreational writing. To Congress I say, "don't think that let's you off the hook - I'll be watching you and I'll tell you right here when I think you're screwing up." In fact I encourage everyone to do that. It keeps us/them honest. Most of all I'd like to thank those 12 people who aren't me for voting for me. It was just that close.
I would like to congratulate all of those members who were elected and commiserate with those who didn't make it. I would be remiss in not mentioning the members of the CNC team who were electe😛
Alias Vision, The_Clap, Crowded House, Treian, and Greg McNeish. I'd also like to congratulate MichaelDowning who ran under our banner but is a member of the Canaian Empire Party. I'd also like to tell those CNC and CEP and TAP members who, like me, didn't quite make it how sorry I feel. Stay active - our time will come. These members are 20 person, John Flory, Articdom, el supero coolio, and klop123, Ozymandias Mali... oh hell, we just call him Ozy, only atoms, Donna Rush. Keep trying. And if you're a CNC member who hasn't joined our forums, what are you waiting for!
Thing are going to change in this game in the not too distant future. They may not be things that I think are a high priority to change, or as high a priority as what I'd like to see change. I'll get into those issues at some other time. My point in mentioning the coming changes is that the next month - or two or three - is going to be an interesting time to be in Congress. Wish I were there.
Two votes. Sic Transit Gloria Mundi indeed.

CNC would have won more seats if they didn't run so many sponsored candidates that split your votes...
But then again, what do I know about Congress elections.
We'll miss your level headed contribution in Congress SledDog.
The title actualy means "Thus passes the glory of the world" and comes from Papal inauguration ceremony.
Sara, as always I bow to someone with a better knowledge of Latin (and a lot of other stuff) than my own.
