A new name, a step forward, a fresh beginning...

Day 819, 21:07 Published in Ireland India by Pacifico 4 Shanon

Last night there was an election for a new president of the Irish Republican Party. A new face appeared on the political circuit, and to the surprise of many, an unknown is now the president of a party with a new face and a new name. Will it also have a new beginning?

Twenty four hours after the election I had the privilege of interviewing Whispering Rian, the Irish Republican parties new President.

"Hi Rian, congratulations on your win last night becoming the new president of the Irish Republican Party" 🙂

"How are you feeling at this moment on your surprising victory?"

W. Rian): LOL... well, I am not that surprised. We had planned this about a week or so ago and it pretty much went as planned.

"How would you explain to those that question your quick rise to the political arena and last nights amazing race results?"

W. Rian): To be honest, I don't really think that most people care. I am leading a small group on the fringe. I can't imagine that anyone is really paying attention. However, the quick rise is due to just one thing, really. I have a good group of people behind me. We work together well. Without them, I'm pretty much just some guy playing a game.

"I understand your party will soon have a new name. What name has been chosen to represent your party, and how does that name represent what your party stands for?."

W. Rian): Yes. We are changing the name... it's gonna be a new party with a new direction... so we wanted to give it a name that said a bit about what we are building to...Éire Aontaithe... which, as best I can tell, means United Ireland.

"As party president, what are your short term goals?"

W. Rian): Short term goal is to get the party structure up and running. Forums are going up and we are making them public for anyone to read. To post you will need approval, but I'm trying to make things as open as possible. http://eireaontaithe.proboards.com/index.cgi ...

W. Rian): The party newspaper... which I think this is... needs to get rolling. We have a skype room that all Irish folks are welcome to. Things like that.

&quot😉o you care to share any long term goals that you have for the newly named Éire Aontaithe party?"

W. Rian): Recruitment. getting into a position to be a top five party. That is gonna take a while, but that's where we want to be.

"What types of things will this party stand for?"

W. Rian): What we stand for? As silly as it sounds, we stand for having a bit of fun working together. The core of the group right now comes from another game we played... where we won... we learned how to be a team and how to make a team work. How to make sure no one is ignored or left feeling taken for granted. We learned how to find what those with us did well and put them on those tasks.

W. Rian): That is what we stand for. It's what we are good at and it's what makes these games worth playing for us.

W. Rian): The politics and policies will flow from that.

"How will your party reach out to those unsure of what is to come and show them that this is not ' just another political party' who doesn't listen to the people?"

W. Rian): Hmmmm, I can't imagine we will be reaching out in any new or unique way... well, do what everyone else does... ads, direct contact, referrals... that kind of thing... as to show them that we are a different type of party... I think we will do what has worked in the past... and just let our actions speak. If people can't see the difference between us and the other parties, than we should probably fold up and join one of them... I mean, why have just another group of the same old same old.

W. Rian): Simply put... just watch us and see what we do. We wont disappoint.

Thank you Whispering Rian, the newly elected president of the newly named political party
Eire Aontaithe

Until next time ... Breea from Shannon signing out ... your voice does count in the political scheme of things ..
