Re-elect Senator Infin in Queensland!

Day 789, 18:03 Published in Australia Australia by infin

After two unsuccessful tilts for for the Senate last month I finally secured a seat ranking second overall in Queensland. I have been honoured to represent Queensland, and have worked hard this term fighting for a better system. I have been highly visible this month, discussing policy on the forums, participating in Senate debate, I am usually contactable on IRC and you will see my comments in most eRep articles. I enjoy influencing debate in eAustralia.

During the last term I:

- have not missed a single vote of the Senate;
- implemented the effective Senate Voting Record which monitors Senator attendance and how they have voted on every Bill in the term;
- proposed an amendment to the Inspector-Generals Bill to increase the term to two months reducing the amount of time lost between terms with less elections;
- proposed a Questions on Notice system (which unsurprisingly was not taken up by the Government with any sort of vigor);
- proposed the removal of voting rights for Non-Elected Senators. NES now can debate in Parliament only as any sort of unelected voting right was undemocratic in my opinion;
- I have voted for the lowering of import taxes on EVERY occasion and voted against any increases in import taxes, for manufactured goods.

In relation to promises from my last campaign I can advise:

- regaining WA and ensuring a defence system is implemented in WA - I am still of the view that WA needs to become a major population hub in our country due to its precious diamonds and needs this vital infrastructure;

- lower income taxes - I hope to see ANP policy soon which will be advocating a lower income tax regime combined with a VAT on manufactured goods;

- reducing import tax for sectors where there is a low supply of goods - I have advocated loudly in the Senate for the reduction of import taxes and generally freer trade with out international partners.

- better information by our Ministry of Information - I have relentlessly asked questions of the Government (sometime to their annoyance I feel) however I will not stop - Queenslanders deserve the right know how our elected representatives are running the country and what their credentials are for the job;

- keeping our Cabinet accountable to the Senate - I have asked the tough questions of Cabinet - they don't always like giving the answers, but I will get the answers, that is my promise to you;

Senate should be a place for people who take politics seriously and want to work to improve the lives of our citizens, Senate is not for lulz! I am an AAR enlisted soldier - I fight to serve our country, and am a businessman importing iron and manufacturing weapons for our country.

I joined the ANP because I believe in libertarian ideals: low taxes, low government, letting the individual choose what to do with their money - not the government. I believe Australians want a hand up, not a handout. They want to be able to learn the game mechanics so they can make their own way in life instead of relying on charity all the time.

Vote ANP for a unified party which will take our Senate seriously and work hard to improve our country and enable eAustralians to enjoy the game. We don't have interest groups to support. Our interest group is everyday eAustralia!

Make sure to read my other articles about libertarianism, policy and the ANP to better understand our party's beliefs. ANP has a lot of work to do and we need your help!
