Day 17: Special Military and Wargame Edition

Day 780, 23:59 Published in Philippines USA by Hekter
Department of Defense Finalized
After much shuffling over the past few days, the DoD finally stands as follows:

Director: Ariel David Buena
Deputy: Ezio Auditore di Firenze

Commandant of the Marines: Anarchist
Admiral of the Navy: Rich Porter
Superintendent of the Academy: Ezio Auditore di Firenze
General of the Army: cruelbear
Commander of the Special Operations: Ariel David Buena

Many thanks to all our new Commanding Officers! I look forward to a more militarily-engaged month.

Military Supply Delays
Of course, with all the shuffling, supply deliveries are bound to be delayed as new commanders are given proper org access. Please be patient 🙂 Additionally, weapon stockpiles are lower than usual. Soldiers may be asked to move into DoFA companies to increase supplies.

Wargame Issues
It should be stressed, for anyone who is not already aware, that the "Battle for Sabah" is entirely friendly. Malaysia is the Philippine's closest ally, and while the territory may be disputed in the Real World, we will honor game mechanics in the concept that Sabah is eMalaysian.

We spend too much.
We do not actually pay anything for these wargames. We are not spending unnecessarily--the tab is paid by the participants we are 'at war' with. From time to time we actually make a few extra gold, in fact. Countries that are participating now are small countries, and thus we don't have many export licenses that are affected. Large nations tend to get into 'real' wars much more often.

It compromises our safety.
The Philippines has no MPPs with anyone else, thus, Indonesia must declare war on us for there to be real conflict. That process takes 24 hours, giving us plenty of warning to prepare for battle. We have extensive plans with our Sol allies in place to make war on the Philippines as difficult as possible.

It stresses our market.
This one I have to grant the detractors--it places higher demand on the market, but also generates more revenue for businesses and workers in general. I'd rather face a slight shortage of weapons and an influx of new businesses than see businesses closing left and right because no-one is buying weapons.

It's somehow new.
The Sol Training War(Also known as the Southeast Asian Training War) has been going on since August.

It's not legal.
Last I checked the ePhilippines does not actually have a constitution-it's still being written. The question of legality in eRep is whether or not it follows the rules, and it clearly does.

Additionally, while it may carry the branding of Sol, it is a private arrangement between the Philippines, Malaysia, and the participants.

International News
Speaking of people beating each other up, Keegan reports in to tell us the latest in people beating each other up all over the globe!

America Enters The War On France
After quite some time of neutrality in this particular conflict, primarily due to a focus on the Asian Front, the eUS has entered Spain's war on France, assisting their ally Spain, and sending an already hard-pressed Nation into even deeper turmoil, as the Spanish continue to delve deeper into French regions. eFrance now lacks a hospital of any level, and is down to an insignificant two regions, neither of which are of great value.

Anarchy In The UK
As pressure mounts, and rumors of a multi-pronged EDEN attack swarm, there is growing tension in the United Kingdom. Questions of who will attack, and when, are mounting, and these matters are not helped by the many EDEN articles circulating through the UK media. Updates will commence as soon as a true attack has begun.
