[MoFA] Beginnings
AltmerVampire
Hey eJapan,
As you may or may not know, our new President, KITA Ikki has appointed my as his Minister of Foreign Affairs because of my experience in the area. I have been only too happy to accept this post and I intend to do it to the best of my ability and for Japan’s best interests.
Now, I understand that there has been a tad of controversy and outrage (to say the least) about my appointment. I would like to state here and now, I am not a Phoenix PTO agent, nor have worked with the alliance in any manner. When I left the UK, it was still a member of the defensive alliance of PEACE. So yeah, cease accusing me without proof please
😉And I fully intend to keep my position unless Congress or the President deems that I am not doing my job to a good standard, in which case I will be more than happy to stand aside.
Anywho, now we have dealt with some of the nasty pieces of business, let’s get on with business shall we? So here are the core elements as I see them of KITA’s foreign policy administration and/or what I intend to work on in this fine month of January.
Neutrality.
As with Dokomo, KITA and myself want a strong bond with all Asian nations and to put them first in our minds, however, unlike Dokomo, this administration will be doing it in a strictly neutral way. There will be no region swaps, no favouritism and a balanced foreign policy to both EDEN and Phoenix. Blah, blah, blah Phoenix SPAI etc. Hush.
For the record, I’m going to have to admit I disagree with the mere concept of two major alliances, let alone the individual alliances of EDEN and Phoenix. Personally I think the game would be more interesting with +5 alliances like Sol rather than two dominant alliances that we have now. Regardless… Immaterial to the article at hand. Maybe another time, eh?
Sol.
Dokomo raised the possibility of rejoining Sol in the future at some stage shortly before the elections. This is a possibility I am very interested in, because of partially what I mentioned before about alliances, and partially because of what I said before about putting Asia first. (And on the note of Asia first, the Indian government has approached me on the possibility of using fake trade embargo votes to give their Congress experience, which we have agreed to. The Indian congress will vote no. View these laws as "lulz" proposals for XP, like Dokomo's Welcome Messages) Regardless, I will be chasing up leads and informing Congress and the general populace who read the Congress forum of my progress as I go.
From what I have dug up so far, I personally would support joining Sol in the near future. However I would strongly advise waiting a week or two to see the results of current bids to improve the alliance.
Keeping the public informed.
This, in my opinion, is vital for the citizens of Japan to actually give the slightest damn of things outside its own borders. Which is why I intend to release articles as often as I physically can about wars and as many interesting tidbits as I can find and hopefully tell you things you don’t already know. An informed public, is an intelligent one. Besides, it may interest you enough in the game to get more involved is my hope.
Ambassadors.
To start with, I need a Director of Ambassadorial Affairs. They need to be active, hard working and not willing to take crap from the ambassadors. Oh, and they can be from any party, and can have any previous experience or none. I want to train people up in foreign affairs, and this is a good way of stepping up the ladder.
Ambassadors are to be made fully aware of their duties, which I shall be ensuring over the weekend hopefully. The programme is on its way up, all it needs now is a bit of work from the volunteers who have become ambassadors. If you are interested in becoming an ambassador and adding valuable experience to your eCV then please PM me ASAP.
So I do believe this is all I can think of. More things will be added to my to-do list as I come across them. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, and for the duration of my time in the MoFA, it is unlikely this paper will have the same formatting as usual since I’m a tad busy to waste a lot of time on making this prettiful. So you’ll have to make do with whatever I can manage unfortunately
😛
Regards,
AV

AV is a great and trusted player
I'm wondering about your stance on Neutrality in consideration of the President's recommendation to act in Germany's benefit (which is against his campaign promise of neutrality).
Do you support actions against Poland?
Well when I say neutrality, I mean that in a loose term, only related to EDEN and Phoenix. It would be a waste of Japan's potential to get isolationist. I should have made that clearer >_>
But Germany have been long term allies of Japan, so yes I feel that we should support them. However, our military is weak, therefore I see no real benefit to annoying Poland over the issue. Instead I intend to attempt to assist the Germans in a diplomatic approach, to the best of my ability and the circumstances
@AV Doesn't showing any support to Germany have the possibility of annoying Poland though? They are (or maybe were) one of Japan's strongest Allies, correct? Is risking our MPP with Poland worth the small donation to Germany?
AV, the Phoenix team is missing you! They miss your double agenting and all the information that you used to give! Damn, well I suppose those messages you send Phoenix HQ about Japan's workings are ok, but you really could do more.
On the cotroversy: I am MoFa of eMalaysia and came from eCanada. I too faced similar suspicions. I have known AV some time and have every confidence in him. Yes he has Phoenix contacts...let him use them for eJapan!
Hai AV :B
Congrats on your appointment <3
AV is a Phoenix spy. He even moderates a Phoenix nation forum with all kinds of access 😛
SaraDroz... I heard the name... you were eUK CP once, werent you? AV PWNS, btw!
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be particularly important for eJapan under my administration, and it is good to see that AltmerVampire is off to a good start, having identified our national goals and starting to organize the ambassador corps that will help achieve them.
eJapan is neutral, not isolationist. There is always a chance that our (or any) policies may upset one or both superalliances, but we will be careful to balance our disposition towards them in such a way that we are not seen as favoring one side over the other.
AV is an honorable player. ejapan you have nothing to worry about
Good article, Minister. Thank you for sharing.
And so Team Edward wins against Team Jacob!
thank you for keeping us informed.
Poland is lame, lets help the poor Germans they are beating up on. Unless you would rather just flame all the bullying of small nations done by Phoenix and ignore the bullying of small nations done by Eden.
Good luck in your task. Voted 🙂
Good Luck. You have friends in eUK, I hope that is good.
@Walorm Guess who entered office with a full bank? KITA!
Shows what you know.
"Well when I say neutrality, I mean that in a loose term"
The neutrality of an eUKer. 😉
I joke. AV is a p cool guy. 🙂
Good luck on your appointment.
