The day has come for me to say goodbye

Day 775, 03:45 Published in Australia Australia by corny-ratbag

Well I’m not very good at goodbyes as many of you know, so I’m going to make this short.

I joined Erepublik on day 148 of the new world to a world of war with eIndonesia invading our beloved country. Since then I have met a lot of people that have not only influenced me in game, but have also impacted me in real life.

If it was not for an individual that only a very select few will remember, I would not have played erep longer than a week. FruFru was to me what many of you would relate to as ausEaid. She helped me out with absolutely everything I needed and even defended me when I got into a bit of trouble. Yes we have all been in a bit of an e-poo, including myself.

After sitting back for a few months watching the e-world go by and saving my pennies, I thought I might give the economy side of the game a whirl. After purchasing my first company, named “Wellness Raising Gifts” I quickly got my name out there including receiving an award for my work as a general manager.

As time went by I met Tim09 who I become a supplier for his gifting run as a Mayor (Bring back the Mayors!!!) and through his influence I ran as the first Aussie Mayor in Belfast. After a winning the election my work load significantly increased meaning I had to pretty much dedicated my entire day to erep. To add to this I was put up as a candidate for congress by my party, PCP.

After spending a number of terms in the politic side of the game I gained another company and shortly after founded “True Blue International” with my fellow Australian’s Tim09 and Cheeseball. To a lot of peoples surprise True Blue only started with 2 Q1 companies and each of us putting in 50g each. Today True Blue is worth well over 3000g and not one of us have spent a RL dollar on the game.

When I heard about the plans to liberate Australia I quickly got myself in contact with Zaney. He had been working on getting Australia back for over 7 months at this time. After consulting with Zaney he placed me in charge of the economy recovery. With this responsibility I got together with my fellow company managers and made a plan to help Aus get back up and running.

We put a number of companies we had purchased in Australian regions and all our profits forward to do our bit for operation esky to liberate Australia. After an unfortunate false start, our second try was successful and from that point I held the position of Minister of Industry for a total of 11 months.

During this time I mentored many general managers whilst learning a lot through my experience running True Blue. To get a grasp on the large number of companies that I was managing I created a spreadsheet that I used to manage employees and keep track of sales. This later became GM Records which has evolved from a simple spreadsheet to an automated online tool which can be found at www.truebluecreations.net. The original sheet had 4 releases with a total of over 2000 downloads and yesterday the online tool just clicked over 2000 users.

Not many of you know this, but I like to have things symmetrical. So to round it off (it was not internal, but it worked for me 😛) to date I hold 11 congress medals (plus 2 for time in the UK before V1), 3 battle hero medals (one of them being in the latest war against Brazil) and 6 hard worker medals (well I could have got many more but I missed a day or 2 of work because I was too busy reading messages at day change 😛).

However it’s not the medals or the glory that I have enjoyed throughout the game (well I did a little 😛) but it was the people that I have met that made it what it was. There are WAY too many people to mention, but I will try my best to get all of you 🙂

Firstly Tim09 and Cheeseball, I would like to thank you for helping me get True Blue to one of the biggest international businesses erepublik has seen. I could have not done it without you guys.

Irsh has also been a tremendous help to me with a number of tedious tasks.

I would also like to thank Bucki has been my number 1 employee sticking with me from almost day 1, thank you mate 🙂, and thank you to all hard workers who have worked for True Blue, I hope you enjoyed it.

Calibur, thank you for the great times we had together. I hope to see you around 🙂

Zaney, Cottus, Patti11, Cozza and MM (I know I have missed a few sorry, but you know who you are) it was awesome working with you in getting Australia back.

Scotywest, well what can I say. You have been with me through the highs and lows, at one point we were staying up to the early hours of the morning talking. Thanks for all the great laughs, and I have to admit you are good at MSN games 😛 and thanks for helping me get to FM 😃

Aussie Vegeta thank you for all awesome times, congrats on getting PM before me, you deserved it mate 🙂

Santic, thank you so much for all your unacknowledged work. A lot of the time it was you in the background getting the True Blue Party ready for the elections, however on many occasions we couldn’t get you a single vote. I’m glad to see you finally got in 🙂

Ranger, well what can I say, thank you for all your work and the many great chats we had. I hope you enjoy more of those awesome American roller coasters 😛 and thanks for helping me get to general 😃

Ronny, thank you for all your work. You may say I helped you by making the database, however you have helped me gain more knowledge whilst programming and maintaining. I hope to see you around when I pop in next.

Last but not least, Cerridwen Voeland thank you so much for your all your hard work and time. You have truly inspired me with your work, makes my contribution look like nothing. I hope you stick around and continue you help the new players out and I wish you luck with running Drovers.

Thank you to everyone for making erepublik such an enjoyable game, we had many highs and lows but in the end I had an awesome time. Sorry to anyone I missed, I’m sure you know I love you 😛

Hmmmm ..... well I tried to make it as short as possible. I hope you didn’t get bored.

In conclusion, I have slowly drifted away from the game due to RL commitments but after logging in after being away on holiday for about a week to find myself banned for no reason and no explanation from admin when asked (my appeal was “please explain why I am banned?”, I logged on the next day to find myself unbanned but no message from admin.) I have decided to quit.

So today is the I have to say good bye to everyone. I wish you all luck in game and IRL and hope that you all work together to make eAustralia the best country erepublik has ever seen.
