What is a Prime Minister Campaign And How Can I Get Involved?

Day 770, 18:42 Published in Australia Australia by Timeoin

Well, since you asked, I'll tell you.

You can read the following, and see what I have planned for January!

Foreign Affairs:

My aim this month will be to continue to support our allies if and when they ask for it. One priority I have is that I would like to continue Australias involvement as an active member of Sol. Currently, there are a few promising developments likely to be happening with this alliance in the near future, and I believe that Australia should be involved with making these come to fruition.

I would also aim for a peaceful resolution of any conflicts. Ever since I first began playing the game (and after realising what wargames were and how I could get involved), I realised that Australia only regained its country through diplomatic negotiations (i.e. the AIRRA).

In particular, I would be actively seeking to end the war with Brazil. The reason for this is that Australia is in a good position currently, and I do not wish to risk our country needlessly. Currently, the only way we would have access to Brazil would be through a region-swapping deal with South Africa. If we were to do this, and attacked Brazils home regions, then we would activate all of Brazil's MPPs, and then they would be in a position to threaten Australia again.

With regards to Alliances, I believe that a decision to this should be undertaken. I also believe that this decision, which affects all of Australia, and will do so for a long time, is much too important to be undertaken by just one person. To this end, I propose to hold a referendum on the subject during my term. In that manner, it will be up to the people of Australia to decide which direction we will undertake with regards to Alliances, however I would request that at the very least, we stay with the Sol alliance. (And just to clear things up, I am referring to a vote on whether Australia should officially join EDEN).

Defence:

This month, I will be looking into the overal structure of the Defence Department. This will be the main priority of the defence department during this month: making improvements to the defence department to ensure that our defence is running optimally. Unless forced to do otherwise due to an invasion of Australia or its allies, I will be keeping weapons distribution to the levels that our currently outlined by the Australian government legislation (the Military Structure and Logistics Act).

This will not be the only aim of the defence department this month, though. The other main aim of the Defence Department will be to actively seek to start rebuilding our national weapons stockpiles. The reason for this is that due to the recent war with Brazil, we have almost no weapons. For that reason, unless the current war with Indonesia and Malaysia continues for most of the next month, or some other major conflict involving our allies breaks out, I will be seeking to build our national stockpiles up as much as i possibly can.

Information:

This month I will be seeking to get accurate, unbiased Information out to the people. It is my belief that this department was designed to deliver reports on both levels of Australian government: the Senate AND the Cabinet. It is a department that i have had personal experience in, and i believe that in order for this so succeed, the Minister of Information be given a free hand to report on the government's activities. I am a strong believer in Open Government, and so will be giving them the opportunity to report any breaches of government policy. I will therefore be appointing someone who I know will report this, and has done so in the past.

Cultural Services:

There will be two main aims for Cultural Services this month. The first of these will be the messaging of new players, in order to welcome them to Australia, make them feel welcome, to let them know what services are available to them, and to aim to keep them playing the game. The second goal of Cultural Services this month is to bring back the "Cultural" element of this department. To this end, the Minister of Cultural services will be seeting the groundwork for official, government-run eAustralian sports, amongst other things.

Finance and Industry:

There will be no major, significant changes to Finance and Industry in the next month. The Minister of Finance will be in charge of keeping the Monetary Market wall secure, and transferring money to the departments as per their budget, as well as any other tasks that need to be undertaken with regards to this department. The Minister of Industry will be in charge of running the Government-Funded Companies (GFCs), and do their best to increase Australia's GDP.

Immigration, Customs and Security:

No significant changes are expected. They will be responsible for ensuring that Australia is as protected from Political Take Overs (PTOs) as it is as possible to be.

In the next few days, I will be releasing my Cabinet Line-up.

If you like these plans for the next month, then please vote for Timeoin on January 5th.
