The war in South Korea has been quite quiet since the war that broke out on Thursday, 6th May 2010. We found out about this possible war about a day before it was due to happen due to the declaration of war proposal by the Japanese.

Gyeongsangbuk, shown in pink above, was the region that Japan took from South Korea

Rangeley and his cabinet announced that Austria will support and try to protect South Korea from Japan by sending mobile forces over to South Korea to help fight against the attackers. PrinceOfAustria, Minister of Defence, led the troops and successfully managed to inform the army and give out materials for the war.

Eisenhorn, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Austria, led the battle against the Japanese by inflicting the most damage in fight, this was mainly due to his tanking against the Japanese.

In the end Japan won but not by far.

Japan has since not attacked further into South Korea, however, this is mainly due to the Mutual Protection Pact (MPP) that South Korea signed with Germany on the very same day as the war.

Interviews

In this issue (Issue 42) I have conducted interviews with both Rangeley, President of Austria and Peter de LusionisT Bae, President of South Korea.

Peter de LusionisT Bae:

Why did Japan decide to invade South Korea, and what was your reaction?
I'm pretty sure they were bored out of their minds and my reaction to it was "WTF, really?", I'm sure you'd understand.

What is the current state of the war, and how would you rate the response from South Korea and others to the invasion?
I was actually surprised at how close we were in that last battle, even though we lost and much foreign aid was received. I can't disclose our next step in this war, sorry.

Will South Korea be attempting any counter-attacks to reclaim the lost region?
Yes, don't know exactly when though.

Do you have any message you would like Austrians to read in regards to this war?
If we could get some more support from you guys, I couldn't ask for more. We've received much help already, but our population is quite low on active citizens. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I have also conducted an interview with our president, Rangeley, to discuss his point of view on the war in South Korea:

Why did you decide to support South Korea for this war?
South Korea was one of the first nations to declare their support for us when Croatia invaded, and deployed their mobile forces to our aid. Now that they are in their own time of need, its our responsibility to come to their help and support their independence, as they supported ours.

What was your reaction to the outcome of the battle for Gyeongsangbuk-do?
I was pleased with the performance of the Austrian Army in this battle. We easilly set a new high mark for damage done by deployment only by Austrian forces, and made a real impact on the battle. While allied forces were not successful in securing the region, we put up a fight and showed that Japan would not be able to advance with South Korea laying down.

Why do you think Japan has stopped advancing in South Korea?
With the passage of the new MPP with Germany, further attacks on South Korea would open this. Japan seems unwilling to take that risk at this time, and as such they have yet to open another battle.

Do you think we will we sign an MPP with South Korea under your term as president?
I think the most practical involvement we can have is through the deployment of mobile forces.
