Thank you and goodbye

Day 747, 03:20 Published in Norway Norway by Cirno

Another President election is over, and we had even more votes then last time. In the end Eris got the most votes and is now our sitting president. Congratulation.

Let's take a moment to look back at what happened the last month.

Economy
My government made our first budget, showing all our income. This provided us with information on how much we could spend. To our big surprise we had a lot more income then anyone thought and at the moment the tax income is just a small part of it

Military
My MoD K|ng(Terje Hansen) renamed the Trooper unit to HV (Heimevernet) to make it more suitable for Norwegian conditions and matching our FSK unit.

After that, I increased the defense budget by more then 3 times what it was. We now spend 50g a week on our military units. (Including soldiers in EMC)

Immigration / Babyboom
Eris and Endy got the job to reform the Immigration dep. and come up with campaigns to keep citizens active for the first 7 days in eRep. After increasing their budget as well, they started a 'newbie' lottery, where one winner got a Q1 house. This hopefully lead to a few more active citizens.
Immigration has also been helping new citizens with tickets to move to a hospital region, and gifts to get them above 40 in wellness to fight, all this to make the gaming experience better.

On the babyboom part, Damien and Hammaburg started a Facebook group that has been advertised in-game. After the creation of this group, daily new citizens increased up towards 10 a day. This is a good number, and if we manage to keep it there, that's 300 users in a month.

The number of votes in the elections keep increasing, and I believe that is a due to these two things, mainly the effort to recruit new players, but also keeping them when they sign up.

Hospitals
This has been a hot subject in the election campaign, but the facts remain, we placed a Q5 hospital in Østlandet. The hospital was already in stock, so this isn't the biggest thing in itself.
What's more important is the restart of the hospital company! After the budget was made, I realized that we actually could afford building new ones! The cost have been calculated to 100g a month, and it is in our budget.

Media Frenzy
The media has gone hot during this election, with accusations flying in all directions. Last night I stopped commenting on the countless articles, but I would like to sum it all up here.
As you can see above, we have accomplished a lot the last period, and by all means, I didn't do it alone! I had good help from my ministers, but they worked on my command. All ministers were given tasks to complete, and I followed up on it and pushed them till it was done. In my opinion that is good leadership, and the correct way to get things done.

I've also said that I never liked pointing out the opponents flaws, and rather focus on myself, but with all the negativity and bad excuses I have to let you know the truth.
Each time we did something good, or pointed out everything we accomplished this term, members of the Teknokratene countered with either "That would have been done anyway, regardless of who was sitting" and/or "But we already have that written in our party program".

But guess what, talk is cheap!
The party program of Teknokratene is old, very old, and includes "make xx better or bigger" where you can replace xx with anything. So it covers pretty much everything. Nothing wrong with that, I agree, they have good ambitions. But... is ambitions all they have?
Teknokratene had the President seat for 3 straight months before me, so why didn't they follow their party program and do those things? Why do they wait till someone else does it, and then just say they have that in their program? I can't really answer that, but I know its easier to come with promises then actually go through with them. Kinda like real life politicians.

Conclusion
I am a man of the democracy, and I respect the majority of our population. I'm sad that all that was accomplished this month counts for nothing when the citizen of eNorway voted for their next president, but I get the clear message. Me, my work and my government is not wanted. For that reason, I'm hereby withdrawing from the Norwegian politics. I will no longer take an active part in the politics.

This is by no means critic to Eris, I hope she follows up on her election promises and keep working on all the things we accomplished this month. But I also hope the citizens will appreciate hard work and actually doing things in the future, rather then just some old written goals. If so, I might return.

I had a good run, and don't regret anything we did the last month. Hope you all will enjoy the changes, even though you didn't let me benefit of the success.

Best Regards
