The Philippine Press Club is BACK!

Day 737, 05:22 Published in Philippines Philippines by Swagger McSwag

It was a time of trouble. Our Congress was taken over. We fought back. We prevailed.

There were many who contributed to the downfall of the abominable Secta del Guru Varnish, a renegade faction of Spaniards who looted our treasuries and sabotaged our economy.

Not least of them were the propagandists and journalists of the Philippine Press Club. Wielding the figurative mighty pen that is the keyboard, these wordsmiths formed a united front that lambasted and discredited the Secta at home, stirred up international voter support in the foreign media, and paraded our own loyal public servants to secure our victory in the polls.

But, afterwards, we got busy. Many of us took on key roles in government and had to leave the Club to fade into the mists of history.

Alas, a remnant of the Club is alive. And we are back!

Reinstitution and Goals of the Club

As its founder and official spokesperson, I hereby reinstitute the Philippine Press Club.

The goals of the Club shall be a) to promote journalism in the Philippines, and thereby stimulate the media, and b) to produce the very first batch of Filipino media moguls.
