Alex Australis : Independent Senator for NT

Day 729, 22:33 Published in Australia Australia by Alex Australis

Dear eCitizens of the Northern Territory,

Seeing what the current Senate has turned into I have decided to run for a seat in the Senate again as an Australian Independent Senator, it’s important for me to explain that if you chose to vote for me it is because of the principles I alone advocate as each member of the AI runs on different ideals and as such we do not share a common voice on all things.
For those who are not aware, I have been a Sentator for 5 terms and the Inspector General of Australia for 2 terms before leaving to fight in the USoA wars and then briefly taking a vacation from the game. During that vacation I watched the eAus forums closely and saw how it turned into joke proposals and spam contests by some of the Senators.

The Senate

It pains me to see questions and proposals come up in the Senate which have all ready been answered but no one checks the Policy section anymore. I plan on changing that and not just my Private Messaging Senators with the answers like I have been doing but by actively getting involved.

ASIO

I was originally against ASIO as it was an obvious power play but some of the better known players, it does not account to anyone accept the self appointed ASIO chairmen.
ASIO is tasked with defending eAustralia from subvert threats, well by my count eAustralia has had its bank account robbed twice now and ASIO has failed to protect or find the culprit.
I can see no reason why ASIO should exist in its current form, as a Senator I would call for an investigation into the operation of ASIO and if it is required by eAustralia.

eIndo/NAP/WA

It might surprise people to know that I was against the return of WA! I and a few others held the idea that eAustralia would be better off “renting” WA to eIndo which would provide us with income to one day buy back WA. We have WA now but I don’t think those who planned it had the foresight to see what it would do to our economy. I don’t think the NAP is a good idea and I would have voted against it but I would have also voted AGAINT Cerri’s impeachment as it is ridicules. The claims made against her are uneducated and if those involved had a look at the policy section of the forums they would see why. Cerri’s actions are perfectly legal even though I disagree with them.

If voted back into the Senate I promise to return to my bulldog ways and help set the Senate right again by bringing back the seriousness it deserves.
