Senate candidacy...yes, again

Day 729, 17:50 Published in Australia Australia by Dean Kong

I said I wasn't going to run. Senate is tiring work, many people quit politics because of senate. But I feel that experience is needed in senate in these upcoming months of hardship, what with our war with eIndo and tinkering on the edge of entering into a major alliance, and so I, Dean Kong, have decided to run for senate again.

As most people know, I can't run under the ACP once again as we have sunk below 50 people. So I have decided to run under the AIP banner, and I would understand fully if there were 6 other people running here, in Western Australia, and I wasn't picked to be one of them, because as everyone here knows I shall be returning to the ACP once elections are over.

Why should you vote for me? Here is my resume:
2 term senator
1 term Deputy Minister for Information/Minister for Information!
1 term Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Current co-deputy Minister of Defence
Former AAR marshall
Member of ACUK
Current Senate Speaker
1 term PP of the Australian Communist Party

Now I shall tell you what I stand for. This is something I don't usually do, but in this time of organised chaos I believe all voters should know what their possible senators stand for regarding major issues.

I support the NAP with eIndonesia
A lot of people are going to say "oh look, he's another PEACEnik, scared of eIndo, a dying empire" etc etc etc, but that's not true. I'm not scared of eIndo invading (because if they do manage to kill us, we can always come back again), but I do support us maintaining friendly relations with our close neighbour. Despite their long occupation of our territories, despite this current war with Malaysia and despite eIndo's methods for getting new players, over the course of this game we have struck a very powerful relationship with our closest neighbours. Evidence can be easily seen on IRC where we have many eIndo's in #ausrep, and many Aussies in #erepindo. On top of that we share our news around a lot too. Basically, why should we have this friendship ended, after many months of hatred from their occupation? An NAP with them, even if it is for 5 months, will keep this bond strong.

I no longer support a hospital in every state
If you had asked me 4 days ago, I would of said "yeah sure, a hospital for every state". Back then we were in open war defending Malaysia. Back then we had 1800 gold in our bank. But not no more. Any future hospitals to be built should be sold, in my opinion. Right now we're basically starting our economy from scratch, once again. A hospital in every state is second rate to making sure our country is able to stand on it's feet. And while we managed to get back without selling a hospital last time, selling one would dramatically decrease the time needed to do so, and considering we're still in rather a hostile stance in our neighbourhood I believe this is important to do.

Lastly, I support a "lulz" free senate
Lulz proposals can ruin the working of our senate. I would like to see a senate working like the senates of old, where it was srs business 24/7. It mightn't be as fun, but at least we get all our work done. And afterall, senate is supposed to be a place for srs business. So if you vote me, I will try to do my best in making sure it remains so. This term I was senate speaker so it was quite easy, but even if I'm not next term, I will still make sure I do what I can to make senate a Lulz Free environment.

Well that's it from me for another month. Make sure you vote Nikec Serbin for NAP on the 23rd, and when the 25th rolls around, place your trust in an experienced Senator. Vote Dean Kong.
