YOO HOO - YOU NEW?

Day 3,460, 06:56 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Ministry of Health

Ooh … hello. Haven’t seen you here for while - how’s it going? Fancy a cup of tea?

Yeah, I know; we’ve been a little quiet recently. But we’re* still here. Still beavering away, supporting our younger players, feeding them, advising them. You know … being nice to them. Being nice - there’s a commodity that’s been in short supply recently, don’t you think?

Anyway, here’s your tea. And a biscuit too. Giving people food is kinda what we do 🙂

What’s that you say? You’re relatively new to eRep and the eUK and you’re not sure what on earth the NHS actually is? Well that’s a shame. Luckily though, if you’ve got a couple of minutes to spare, I can fill you in. Who knows, you may even be in a position to benefit from the NHS. I hope so.

What is the NHS?
The NHS is an age-old scheme, the sheer benevolence of which puts the eUK head and shoulders above every other country in the eWorld. So, something to be proud of 🙂

In essence, it is a scheme that supports young players by rewarding their activity with food. It helps get new players up and running, and supports them through those dodgy early days when cash and supplies are short.

Sounds cool. Perhaps a little more detail though?
Of course.

The NHS scheme is available to eUK players up to level 32.

You join the scheme by talking to the boss - Madelina de Melrose. She’s the nicest person in eRep, so don’t be coy about talking.

Once in, you get up to 1000 energy (100 Q5 food or equivalent) sent to every day that you’re active.

How much you get will depend on how active you are - essentially the formula is 10 energy per experience point you gain (up to 100 q5 per day). Don’t worry about calculating this though - your activity will be tracked and calculated on a daily basis by the NHS team.

If you’re inactive for more than fourteen days (without informing the NHS team in advance), you’ll be removed from the scheme.

That’s it. That’s all you need to do. Essentially, you play eRep and the NHS will send you food. It’s simple, and it’s brilliant.

That sounds amazing! But essentially I’m quite greedy; is there anything else I can get?
Actually, yes there is.

As well as giving you food every day, the NHS provides support and mentoring for new players, to help teach you about the game and what’s going on.

eRep can be a confusing place when you’re new. The NHS will help navigate you through.

Sweet! But where does all the food come from?
Good question.

In the really old days, the NHS was funded by the government (i.e. through taxes). But that stopped a long time ago.

After that, there was a tradition whereby Members of Congress would donate the five gold they get when joining Congress. However, the dictatorship thing stopped congressmen getting five gold, so that killed the tradition.

Now the NHS runs off its existing reserves, plus donations. And given that there aren’t so many new players around any more, it’s not as expensive as it used to be.

I’m an oldfag who doesn’t need help from the NHS. Is there anything I can do to help you?
Of course.

Send us your money.

All of it.

😉

Really though, donations to the NHS are always welcome, so if you’d like to pay a small amount of cash you’ll receive our thanks and the warm glow of self-satisfaction that only helping others less fortunate than yourself can bring.

Give Madelina a shout - she’ll be happy to accept your donation.

So that’s about it. If you’re an eUK citizen under level 32, the NHS is here to help you. You entitled to it, so make sure you claim it.

Cheers,
The Doctor
