[WTP] Party President - It's like a double-ended...

Day 3,219, 05:27 Published in USA USA by Cubby

I'm not gonna make it a bigger deal than it is.

People have played Party President many ways. I have too. In fact, I've run in the past on COMPLACENCY. Awesome huh?

Complacency shouldn't work. But the way I see it, there's two sides to Party President. ONE: Keep the machine running. Make sure there are primaries, and elections, and that the in-game congress slate gets set. It's clicking buttons. But those buttons are important. Well, to the degree that this game is important. You know what I mean.

And that's what I've done this term. I reinstated primaries and made sure that people had at least a minimum level of communication about them. Is this a big deal? No. It's the job. One end of the job.

But there's another part of being Party President. TWO: Leadership and vision for the party. When there's strong members in leadership, this comes easy. Let the people do their jobs, and just keep the ball rolling. It's a lot like the first part of keeping things running. Yet there's more to it when the game is, well, played out like it seems to be now. People are less motivated. And sometimes it feels like no one cares.

That's reality, but it's not where everyone is. We've got some people that care, and that want to see us grow. People that are proud of the WTP tradition of letting members have their own opinion, vote, and voice. WE THE PEOPLE is different. We break ties in congress, and general elections. We are the difference, the swing, the ones that can change things.

So I'm calling on my fellow WTP members to join me. Our voice matters, and my goal this term is to improve on its effectiveness. It may take baby steps, but with your help we can.

Double ended thingy.

Thanks for reading.
