[UKRP]Thanks, and Welcome

Day 3,466, 14:37 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Dishmcds
Ladies and Gentleman;

First, let me say thank you to the party. I would like to thank those who voted to put their faith in me this month, as well as those who didn't. It becomes my job to earn your respect through hard work in trying to continue to make the UKRP, and the UK in general a very cool place to be.

I'd like to start by outlining the basic party "titles", first by introducing our Party Vice President this term, CottonPicken. Cotton is a former UKRP member who left the game for a bit, but is back and back home in the UKRP. She's fun to talk to, and has a great amount of energy and vision into pushing the UKRP and the UK back into prominence.

For the other three positions, I am open to anyone who has the burning desire to fill them, although I'd like them to functional positions, not just titles. If you currently have or are holding one of them and would fancy something, just drop me a line and we can discuss what that would entail.

Now, on to some serious business. I have four primary goals this term, that I'd like to see us work on as a party, which should, I hope, improve our party and our country (not listed in any priority order). I'd like to see some party involvement in assisting in these areas, so if you're interesting in filling one of those roles let me know:

1. Congressional Organisation/Whip: We value the opinion of our Senators/MPs, and are more than happy to let them vote as they feel they need to. That being said, we must ensure that we are utilizing the proper methods of discussion, and helping the eUK to move forward. That means that we should not be proposing impeachments unless it is warranted and agreed upon by the majority of Senate first, proper tax discussions with Huey, Natural Enemy Laws passing only when needed, and so on. We must ensure that our MPs are not here "for the lulz", but rather to do what an MP is intended to do. If an MP running from UKRP proposes something out of malice, or has a history of doing so, they will be moved down the priority list for the next elections.

2. Party Discussions

I'd like to set aside some time to look at the direction that the group would like to take, starting with a party manifesto outlining what our goals for Congress, Government, and Elections would be. We'll be doing so in the party forums. Our member list on the forums was full of dead bodies, so I purged most of the list. Request access or PM me here when you register (with your nick on the forums if need be) and I'll add you back in. I'd like to start a few things there, and given differing time zones forums were always handy for lists and keeping notes.

3. Voting/Election Primaries

I'd like to get back to doing proper election primaries. For anyone interested in Congress, it will require you to assist/post into the manifesto for the party so your ideas and interests are represented, and you will need to do so in a fairly quick time frame (elections just over a week and a half away). Please let me know if you'd like to run, and just as a point of emphasis, I always try to run a mixture of old and new players to keep our MPs from becoming stale. I'd love to see at least 2-4 new people run from UKRP. For CP primaries, I'll post more on that in about two days, but anyone from a different party that wishes to be in our primary needs to PM me by the 20th.

4. New Player Assistance

While we put together a program (which Cotton and I will be working on as well), if you are a new player and need assistance in the form of guidance, items, etc, please feel free to let me know and I'll make sure to send someone your way. I am trying to get back to "friending" one person a day as well to make new friends for both new and old players, but we're still developing this based on funding, so I don't quite have anymore more than "I'll give you stuff if you need it" at this moment.

Thanks again, and I look forward to a great month.
