Speaker of the House!
Anticlimactic break
That's right, I am hoping to become the Speaker of the 75th eUS Congress.
Why?
Well a few reasons.
1. I've been studying the inner-workings of congress the last 4 terms and I feel like I'm ready to take over the reigns of the halls of congress.
2. Congress needs an active, attentive leader who can build an equally active team around them.
3. I'm tired of seeing the really stupid debates in congress. For example: The fact that we voted in the forums on a proposal that required the in game mechanics to pass.
A Thought on the Last Term
We had a fairly average term of congress, led by Molly Emma and her team, until last week when the wheels fell off. Unfortunately when she stepped away to take over the Operation Retread program, it seemed we had a hesitant speaker in Delyruin and a deputy who hasn't posted in 2 weeks and missed the last 3 votes. We had the proposal of the Embargo of Canada and without a proper discussion thread it was anarchy. After 51 hours it reached the 10 approvals (which in my opinion is too long if it had the proper 24 hour discussion prior to being moved to proposal, but that's another subject) it was moved to an in forum vote instead of being directly moved to the in game proposal. It was a hot mess.
Building a Team for the Future
While I am just one man, I am unable to do it all by myself. So I went out and built a team that I believe that is just as unstoppable as my will.
I've asked both Disco Musolini and Trekker Tlumac to be my Deputies.
Both are quite active within the government and their parties.
Disco Musolini is the current Secretary of Defense and has been the Air Force Commanding Officer as well as a myriad of other positions. He's been able to help me wrangle the understandings of the game and has been a great help to me. I want him to continue to assist me through the Deputy role.
Trekker Tlumac is the Vice Party President of the Federalist Party and runs the Federalist Press. He's been a calming voice in congress and his level-headed approach during heated discussions is perfect for helping out lead a congress during times of turmoil.
How you can help!
Well clearly my partisan side is saying vote for the USWP for congress on the 25th. The more members of the USWP that are part of congress, the more votes the party will have and we like to vote for own people

But seriously, if you want to help out, contact your party president, tell them that you would like to see me be the SoH and that their caucus should support me.
If you are an incoming congressman, then you should nominate me when the thread gets started and make sure to vote for me!

Your third platform issue is apparently to not allow Congress to hold a forum vote on things that Congress needs to vote on in-game.
Can I then presume that you will also be disallowing other game mechanic-based votes such as NE and Impeachment and Tax proposals?
Or are you going to be selective in this arbitrary rule enforcement?
1. The main problem I had with the proposal is the fact that there was not a relevant discussion thread to the proposal. The "discussion" was titled "The Kanadian Kwestion" or something dumb like that which was a joke thread to start with.
2. I don't believe that if the proposal requires an in game vote we should have an in forum vote on top of the in game vote. impeachments and taxes should be heavily discussed and I would probably (dependent on the situation because some situation carry more weight than others) extend the discussion to 48 hours so that every side is heard, as opposed to the traditional 24 hour rule. Natural Enemy votes are handed down by the president, and congress isn't really involved in any discussion for the NE votes.
While it is permissible to go straight to an in game vote on NE proposals, when such a vote is not a slam dunk, we have traditionally held a forum vote as a straw poll. This is a relic from the days of scarce proposals due to daily CBO donations (back when we were really bringing in tax revenue). We held the forum vote to prevent a wasted proposal, in case consensus was to reject the proposal.
TWC, the main job of the Speaker is to interpret, and enforce the Constitution and Code passed by Congress. I would suggest you read the section about impeachments. Hint: a vote is required (with a 2/3rds majority) prior to it going up in-game.
