[TRS] "Forgetting about Rolo"

Day 1,615, 02:27 Published in Canada Canada by AugustusV

Rolo Tahmasee maintains an almost omnipresent state in our media, and politics, the question many people ask, is why?

For those who don't know (probably not too many of you left), Rolo Tahmasee was a former President of eCanada who stole literally thousands of gold from the treasury, and continued to harass eCanada for months after paying his way with tanks to political power and slowly demoralizing and destroying eCanadian society, assuming his goal is to leave nothing but himself and his cohorts in the nation.

He maintains a steady presence however, in our media, and politics. Why? Because,

1. He's dangerous; he has the money and connections to take over parties, put his people in congress, and even come close to winning presidential elections. With a clear ambition to destroy eCanadian, he thus manages to pose a threat to national security at every step of the political process

2. He's flamboyant, arrogant, and constantly maintains a presence in the media. It works. Both for Rolo as much as it works for any other trashy reality show stars.

3. He divides and conquers; he managed to mind-f*ck an entire nation into endless theoretical debates that draw our energy away from dealing with him, and more to literally questioning the "meaning of eLife". I'd clap for him if the whole situation wasn't so pathetic.

Thus the real question then isn't "why is Rolo so popular and consumes so much of our time", but rather, "why wouldn't he be doing exactly that"? What reasons could we give for why Rolo wouldn't be the talk of the day, every day?

Some will argue that "you gotta put the past behind you bro"! Or some other hakuna-matata type bullsh*t. Of course, this is really just a sly ploy, designed to cause more mindfu*ck among people than necessary. Why? Because you can't argue the opposite of "hakuna-matata" (Lion King reference meaning almost literally "not giving a f*uck) in that being super stressed and worried about everything all the time is good, nor is it good to constantly bring up the past and let it undermine the present. At the same time, laying back 24/7 and being "cool" with everything is also not an ideal, unless you enjoy being an lazy, unemployed, apathetic, plant-like human being who probably can't learn from the past as little as you can remember it. Neither ideal is good, but some will argue that in Rolo's case it's either a good, or bad idea, to keep caring about it. This causes a mind*fuck debate as to which side actually applies in Rolo's case. Rolo of course, never misses a beat pushing the cart in any direction he wants, slowly turning what should have been a practical matter into an idiotic theoretical over-hyped debate about everything even remotely related to him.

Why is Rolo's situation a very practical one to deal with?

1. He stole funds, he claimed to try to destroy eCanada, he refused to give back the money, he has bribed his way to power, he has undermined every social and political fabric of eCanada. He's made a parody of everything that eCanada stood for.

2. If we have any sense of moral justice or self respect, OR, if we just have a LITTLE bit of common sense, we'd see that we should do everything in our power if not to punish Rolo for his actions, then at least to prevent him from attaining any political power out of purely security reasons. Kinda makes sense to suspect he's probably not a good guy right?

Why is Rolo's situation so hard to deal with?

Some people are tools. They are either gullible, naive, or just prone on sh*t disturbing. Rolo has a knack for making good use of these tools. Thus the debate as to whether the Rolo issue is really an issue of "role-play vs game mechanics" has ensured. This is idiotic because,

1. eRepublik, defined as "exploring the new world" or some sh*t like that, is a role-playing game. Period. Unless you're f*cking Columbus literally discovering a new world or you discovered a new dimension, chances are the virtual reality of this game is fake, and requires you to pretend it's real, it's the same type of stuff little kids do, only this one is for "adults". The game mechanics are not designed to mark where the limitations of the game end, otherwise it would be a pretty stupid game. The game mechanics ENABLE us to CREATIVELY USE them in order to ADD TO the features that this game offers. That is why we created alliances. Because it's f*cking cool, and because we CAN. Key word is CAN. Some manz are tryna tell us what we "can or can't do" within the limits of a dam game acting like they're the second coming of Socrates or some sh*t.

2. Whether eRepublik is based on "role playing", or whether it's based on "game mechanics", the fact that the risk to have Rolo in charge of game-mechanics related stuff such as the TREASURY, and OFFICIAL GOV'T ORGS, is a legitimate concern. Thus, we should act within the GAME MECHANICS to PREVENT Rolo from utilizing the GAME MECHANICS for his own purpose. I haven't even begun to mention all the other threats rolo poses to, among others, our SELF-RESPECT, because I guess in the realms of d**cheosphere such notions are "too much of a role-playing nuisance, bro".

Thus people fail to realize that the practical solution has long been buried under the mess of long and winded diatribes on what does "guilty really mean"? and, "who gives who a right to judge rolo" and, "rolo acted according to game mechanics" and other stupid bs.

Nobody has to grant anyone else the power to creatively exploit the game. If the majority of the people have decided to create an external community such as a forum and start role-playing in it, and the majority have ruled that Rolo has disrespected them and is a threat to both their external and internal community, then who the f*ck are all these d*ckbags tryna stop when the majority simply declares Rolo a persona-non-grata and decides to collude against him using both game mechanics, and role playing? And why the hell is it even called "role playing"? How the flying f*uck are you any cooler if you call yourself a "soldier, and president of a VIRTUAL NATION" any more of a "role play" then if you say "oh and I'm also a supreme court judge on a FORUM based on the same game". You're all role-plying one way or another, the moment you call yourself something you're not in real life, and chances are, none of you "game mechanics" fu*ckheads are "soldiers, journalists and politics" at the same time in real life.

The only reason we can't forget about Rolo is because we're too caught in in our own sh*t to deal with him. You can TRY and forget about Rolo, but Rolo won't forget about eCanada. He's on a mission. A mission to screw with everybody, and you're either with him, or against him, there is no "forgetting" about someone when they're trying to hijack congress and the presidency in order to rob us blind again.

I don't need a right to have an opinion. I've made up mine. Rolo is guilty, and all those who agree with me are free to join me in colluding against his interests. Period.
