[tBRE] The Headless Chicken - A true story

Day 2,434, 13:55 Published in Belgium Belgium by Tony Clifford

In the '40s of the last century, Mike was a bold cockerel living in a small town in Colorado, USA.

After five months of relaxed life in his box, came the day which changed his life. The wife of his owner asked him to go and take Mike, to prepare a delicious soup. Unfortunately, or we may say luckily, his owner was not so precise in using the axe to cut Mike's neck: the axe failed to cut Mike's carotid artery, and his stem brain and one ear remained attached to the rest of the body.
Mike didn't die.

His owner decided to spare him, and to take care of him. Mike was fed with water, milk and small corn directly in his esophagus. Mike was able to balance himself and even to clumsly walk around. He passed most of his life trying to preen and peck for food, with no result.

Mike toured the USA, making his owner to earn up to 4 500 dollars a month. But at 2 years of age (one year and a half after the incident), Mike the Headless Chicken died. One night he started chocking and his owners were not able to save him.

Mike's life ended, but his legacy will never die in eRepublik citizens' hearts
