[tBRE] Alliances of the eWorld - World's Hourly Activity (2) - Day 2155
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/2334229/1/20
Dear readers,
here you are the promised second part of the special edition of the Alliances of the eWorld series (first part: [tBRE] Alliances of the eWorld - World's Hourly Activity (1) - Day 2155 ).
A special welcome to the Swisss readers: actually this is my first article in my native eCountry!
In the fist part, we reviewed some data about the activity of the eWorld's countries during a typical day.
In this second part, we will see the same data of the first part but analyzed as alliances.
INTRODUCTION
As you know this game is played from people from all around the World. This means that players chose different hours to be active accordingly to their RL country's time zone.
The damages deployable by the several Alliances follow different patterns on the basis of the real-life time zones of the players which are part of those alliances.
This is particularly true for alliances which are made of countries from the same continent: TWO, an alliance made only of Europeran countries, span only 3 real life time zones, the same as CUA, an alliance made only of South American countries.
HOURLY ACTIVITY BY ALLIANCE
In the following graph, we will see the number of players online at every quarter of an hour during a day.
It is also shown how these players are distributed in the several alliances.
Number of players online during day 2155 - cumulative
(alliances or group of countries, from the bottom to the top: CoT (blue), pro-CoT (light blue), Asgard (yellow), pro-CoT/ex-EDEN (green), Brazil (dark red), Croatia (dark green), Chine (green), WOLF (dark yellow), Turkey (orange), CUA (light red), pro-TWO/ex-EDEN (red), pro-TWO (dark violet), ACT (light violet), TWO (violet))
The first event during the day, is what I called the "Day-Change Peak" (DCP): the DCP consists in a rapid increase in the number of active players that happens at 00:00 eRep time (09:00 CEST). The number of active players double: in the DCP of Day 2155, we had an increase from 1305 online pleyers at 23:45 eRT to 2481 players at players at 00:15 eRT.
Every alliance has this peak, with the only exception of CUA, this is due to the fact that 00:00 eRT corresponds to 04:00 Argentina Time (ART), when people in South America are sleeping.
Interestingly, today the real life time zone of most of Europe changed from CEST (+9 eRT) to CET (+8 eRT): we will see if this peak will continue to happen at Day-Change, or it will move to 01:00 eRT.
After the DCP, the activity drops to reach the European day-time minimum (EDTM) at 01:45 eRT (10:45 CEST) with 1990 players.
After the EDTM the number of players continues to grow constantly to peak at 13:00 eRT (22:00 CEST) when there is the all-day peak (ADP).
At ADP the number of online players reach 2950 players online at the same time. Almost all the main alliances have their peak of activity here: mainly TWO, but also CoT and ACT. The only exception is again CUA, which has no peak during the day, but a constant high activity from 08:00 eRT (12:00 ART) to 20:00 eRT (00:00 ART). We find a similar pattern of activity for Brazil.
It seems that while in Europe activity peaks during the local late-evening, in South America the activity is spread over both afternoon and evening.
After the ADP, the activity starts to decrease rapidly, and after 3 hours (16:00 eRT - 01:00 CEST) the number of online players is halved.
The number of online players continues to decrease to the European night-time minumum (ENTM) when only 936 players are online at the same time. The ENTM corresponds to the minimum of all the day and happens at 20:45 eRT (05:45 CEST). At this time, both Europe and South America are sleeping.
Finally, the number of players starts to grow slowly, until a new Day-Change Peak happens.
HOURLY ACTIVITY BY COALITION
To simplify a little bit the graph, I grouped the alliances in only three groups: a CoT-side group, a TWO-side group and a neutral group (China, Turkey, WOLF).
So let's see how the players of these three groups behave during the day:
Number of players online during day 2155 by group - non cumulative
(pro-TWO countries in violet, pro-CoT in blue, neutrals in green)
In this graph, we may see better how both alliances have a Day-Change Peak, and a maximum in the European late-evening.
What maybe it is not expected, is that CoT-Side have less online players than the TWO-side all day long. This is due to the fact that during the minimum of activity of the 7 countries of TWO, CUA countries remain active and outnumber CoT-side countries.
In particular, TWO-side countries have more than double online players than CoT-side countries from 00:45 to 04:15 eRT (09:45 to 11:15 CEST), while the number of players are comparable (less then 20% difference) only for two hours and a half: from 18:15 to 20:45 eRT (3:15 to 5:45 CEST).
HOURLY ALLIANCES BAR
Finally, the alliances bar. The people who bi-weekly follow my newspaper know what an alliance bar is. So please look at older articles to see an explanation.
In this special edition, we will see an evolution of the alliance bar. Instead of having a static bar representing the percentage of damage output of each alliance during the last two weeks, I'll show you an alliance bar that will point out the potential damage output during day 2155 (note: it is not the actual damage, but the potential damage that online players could have done).
Percentage of potential damage output during dat 2155
(alliances or group of countries, from the left to the right: CoT (blue), pro-CoT (light blue), Asgard (yellow), pro-CoT/ex-EDEN (green), Brazil (dark red), Croatia (dark green), Chine (green), WOLF (dark yellow), Turkey (orange), CUA (light red), pro-TWO/ex-EDEN (red), pro-TWO (dark violet), ACT (light violet), TWO (violet))
You can see here, that the potential damage of the TWO-side outpowers the CoT side all day-long. Only from about 18:15 eRT and 20:00 eRT, CoT-side and neutrals achieve the majority of potential damage.
During American prime-time, approximately from 15:00 to 22:00 eRT, the TWO-side needs CUA to have a majority, while during the rest of the day TWO+ACT+proTWO/exEDEN have a majority even without CUA.
The increase of potential damage by CoT during American prime time is almost completely paralleled by a decrease in TWO core countries.
Thanks for reading!!!

wow, great job Tony! And congratz for the MMM 😉
Great as usual!!
There is one aspect that needs to be taken into account, there are many accounts who are from CoT countries or PRO-CoT countries holding TWO citizenships, thus it is warping the activity statistics, having that in mind is important to get the real picture.
During the "epic war event" I checked both Serbian players and Polish players. Out of the top 100 Serbian players 34% were foreigners, 30% of the next 100 and 28% of the following 100, after that it went down lower. In general about 25% of the damage done was by foreigners and about 20% of the accounts were of foreigners.
The situation is the same in Poland, but to a smaller extent, about 20% damage of foreigners and 16-17% of the accounts being foreign. To put it in perspective that is about 1500 out of 7000 accounts being foreigners in Serbia and Poland.
While not all of them are from CoT countries there is enough to cause warping of the numbers. I did not check the same for Spain, however there is quite a few CoT member country accounts who hold Spanish CS as well.
There is of course the Serbian PTOers in various CoT countries who balance the numbers back but not nearly as much to neutralize the effect.
On another note, now that we know that there is "testing" done, we know where the endless CC of Romania come from and we're once again in a "test gold" era. Also it was clearly evident that before the "weekly" manipulations begun, CoT started regaining initiatives on different fronts one by one and keeping them for the most part as the effect of the previous missions and events started to dissipate. In short while this is going on, none of the above makes any difference. Now every tuesday whatever CoT manages to win the rest of the week, will be overturned when the new manipulation tournament begins.
Simply put after failing with the event and following missions, now Pinocchio has gone to permanent manipulation through "weekly tournaments".
Great as always
