"With regard to the theft of national assets by shadowukcs, the court finds that, since shadowukcs has clearly failed to repay his loan and has publicly stated his intention not to pay the interest or the fines previously agreed upon by him at the time of the loan, there is no need for further investigation or trial. The court, therefore, finds shadowukcs guilty of theft of national assets and judges that the following penalty should be imposed.
Until such time as shadowucks repays at least the entire principal of his loan and makes a public apology for his actions, his access to the national forum will be limited to that of a guest, regardless of his in-game citizenship. The only exception to this is if he should be named as an ambassador from another eNation, he will be given ambassadorial access. In addition, a statement of the penalty and the reason for it will be made in a government newspaper.
It is further noted that the matter of the BAF MU was not taken into consideration except as it bears on the general attitude of shadowukcs to the rights of the eBelgian community. If High Command still wishes to take this into consideration, it will be addressed separately."

Strange that you feel the need to publish this article. Really strange. Shadow does not care and I think most people do not care as well. You know you are not getting an apology and I see this as a public attempt by the state to oust Shadow for good.

Exactly Konrad! It comes from a combination of a lack of anything better to do and probably to appease Shadow's opponent(s?) who complained very loudly about the lack of action knowing full well there is nothing we can do. The end result is that we look petty and stupid..... but what else is new, right?

Actually Konrad and Gibberish, I would've been surprized if this verdict were not spread in in game media in one way or another as it happens everywhere else in this eWorld. The fact that shadowukcs does or does not care has nothing to do with the outcome of the case. In game, indeed nothing can be done but he only commited crimes in the metagame so I don't see your point looking for in game sanctions. The metagame sanctions in this verdict are the ones that needed to be taken.
The metagame is only important to those who care about it and publishing a clearly worthless and ineffectual "punishment" only makes us looks like idiots. Seriously what good does putting this article out do eBE? This is why neutrality is bad for us, everyone is making up stuff to do.
Neutrality is bad for us on many more levels that matter more then just this one. I wonder why you would say the sanction is ineffective and worthless while it clearly avoids any possible future repetition of the case at hand unless damage is repaired.
I have no idea why the SC asked for this article to be published in game. Just noting that it's not really true when Konrad says you only find references to financial type crimes in the eBe media. At some point, this happens everywhere.
For the record, I am against posting any type of ineffectual sanction regardless of the nature of the crime or the perpetrator. Publicly declaring a punishment we know will not affect the individual in question makes us look stupid.
Last I checked, when MG was CP, and NLSP did what I still considered a witch-hunt against both MG and Shadow, the verdict was for Shadow to apologize or he would never be in government as well as access to government org/ institutions and benefits. He did not apologize. A month later he got access to the BAF and you have this problem now.
I fail to see the logic on shouting SHADOW ONLY HAVE GUESS ACCESS UNLESS HE WILL BE AN AMBASSADOR! He will continue to do what he wants.
He does not write articles but nothing is stopping him. If he moves he is most likely not coming back. He has great connections and access to many different countries around the eWorld, from the eUS, eIreland, eUK, etc. Unless you will do a BetaFoxtrot think on him on IRC, he will still come. I do not think even NLSP will resort to that draconian measure. But what good would that do? There are many other channels etc.
For me, cases like this shows the chaos and instability of the eBE internal politics. The story of this incident shows the combat between different political forces. For me, it looks confused. If he stole something write a ticket. If the ticket fails, and you still want to punish him, then you can just blacklist him, the end. You do not need a court case and public declarations about CS etc. To me, it looks desperate and confused. No means no, why exceptions due to ambassadors etc?
I think this is an internal matter in which the average citizen who do not read the forums etc would understand. There is no background information, the story seems like a banking issue, failure to pay back loans requires public apologies? (I am not going to the bank of Belgium), and all in all, there is a total disconnect here. People will think wow the state is harsh as well as WHO CARES? Who is this shadow person and how does this effect me? They now know not to borrow money from eBE banks.

I do not see what purpose it has and if it would have ever had a purpose (what I doubt) it is much toooooooooooooo late. I suggest this article to be removed as I agree with Konrad that it only makes a fool out of eBe.

I do agree with A Vegan that this is much too late, very much too late but I don't see the point in removing the article aside from trying to protect shadow's "innocent victim" reputation.
@Konra😛 This is indeed a purely banking issue. Shadow took out a loan of 84k and didn't reimburse any of it to get back at a couple of people who have nothing to do with loaning him money. If anything, this is certainly not a purely internal matter. Shadow is not to be trusted with a loan. Why do you think banks keep shared blacklists ?
why would anyone loan to shadow in the first place, it's not like this is the first time that he prooves he can't be trusted. Once a douche, always a douche !
Very strange bank, Nohjis. When someone defaults on their loans, the eBE banks kicks them out of the community. Is this the image you want eBE to have? Screw the community etc, if you mess up on loans and other stuff, your name will be publicly tarnished and you will be kicked out of the community. This is what eBE needs, kicking people out. This is a game base on community and of all countries, eBE should understand that, but instead, they work hard to punish and oust people for good.
