[Prime Minister] Day 9 - Help me [insert name 'ere], you're our only hope

Day 3,160, 10:55 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by 10 Downing Street

Good evenin’ gents o/,

Before we go over the last few days I’d like to say a few words in support of the French community. I’m sure the whole of eRep and the wider world joins us in solidarity of the strength of fraternity of civilized nations over yet another atrocity. Together we will not despair.

On eRep however Despair is the unofficial currency of government – to those blissfully unaware of the events of yesterday our MoD has resigned not just from Gov but the game. Boaty was one of the most active and driven of our members and we will be scrambling to try and make up the considerable shortfall. Please read the MoD Brief for more info.

On a slightly happier note we’ve finally given Mongress the slip and arrived on our new Island Home of Jamaica. Our dear Governor-General has kindly lost the Sovereign and requires yer assistance to find our only royal again (don’t pick number 5! You’ve been warned…).

Unused to random drama? Welcome to the eUK….

From our mole in Parliament

Unsurprisingly the issue on whether to vote themselves money resulted in a massive victory for our chamber of democracy. It was duly noted the number of previously fossilized MPs suddenly springing back to life, now ready to doze off again after such a heroic effort but undoubtedly with a slightly wider grin...

In the same vein, Mongress decided the NMU budget should be up for grabs. This is fair enough given there has been no emergency necessary to make a claim on it yet, but the timing could not be more amusing for the Treasury and those bothering to follow their discussions…

With fresh elections in 10 days I hope to be working with interested PPs to get a decent field of candidates this upcoming term. At the moment the bare minimum is the expectation of a lot of members and this needs to change if Parliament wishes to retain the sovereignty I designed under the current system.

The Government has been considering… options…

Foreign Affairs Brief

We have finally proposed a training war with Ireland, deciding their damage range was more suited to training and coordination exercises than the slightly bigger USA. No doubt some will see this as a wasted opportunity to improve relations with the Yanks but I fully expect there will be plenty of chances after we see how things go with the Irish first.

Our commitment to neutrality has not changed, nor do I expect it to until fresh CP elections. I almost certainly will not be re-running so prospective candidates ought to consider any changes, if any, they want to see in our Foreign Affairs policy and start building support for it. Indifference seems to currently reign supreme.

Defence Brief

Admins release more details about aircraft and suchlike

Unfortunately Boaty’s resignation happened an hour before I got back from the pub. This naturally meant the inspiring ‘British Armed Forces’ name and avatar being duly sabotaged (at the very reasonable price of 2g, I might add). Needless to say, I have almost sobered up, and the gov has been assessing what on earth we’re to do about the current existential crisis this department finds itself in.

As with everything in the current version of reality, there are options. This theoretically includes declaring them enemies of the state – but I have been reminded by cabinet on our mild obligations to rationality and judiciousness for the term…

The MU Tournament will now be jointly handled by the MoD and MoHA – Moncrieff heroically accepting the challenge with the close support of Jimmy and Voodoo. We will also begin the process of transferring current commune production to aircraft so that we have a supply ready to be used when the module comes into effect.

With the loss of Boaty we will need a few lads to help cover the workload – if interested drop me or VM a message o7.

Finance Brief

Bank of England Financial Report

As reported by the consummate Huey, income has relatively stabilised just under the £12k/day benchmark. This is a major relief as it essentially means reasonable governments can very easily continue to build on our reserves rather than deplete them. Given the new economic module changes and seemingly with our major producers now located abroad, we are moderately satisfied so long as average daily income doesn’t drop below the ideologically important £10k mark.

If you haven’t already done so, we would be interested in a statement of your holding companies and their locations as we continue our research into the effects on the community’s economy.

Home Affairs Brief

If you haven’t already typed up a complete waste of everybody’s time like I have, you still have another 3 days to potentially bag a cool £5k before we announce the winners and start a fresh batch of categories. Currently this weeks are:-

Category 1 – Most Creatively Helpless Tutorial

Category 2 – Worst Party/MU Recruitment Attempt

Category 3 – Generic Anti-Elitist/Burn Down Mongress Rant

Category 4 – Best despairing analysis about the futile trajectory of the game

Also keep an eye out for more MU Tourny details 🙂
