[PotUS] Inaugural Address

Day 2,178, 12:09 Published in USA USA by Azazel Romanov

After a tough and exciting campaign, I am happy to have been elected as president of the United States. I thank everyone who supported me, advised me, and encouraged me to run this month. We have a slew of issues to deal with this month, and I will seek to address each properly and with equal attention. Our nation is at peace, but the world is beginning to change around us. We may see new opportunities, and we have to be ready to meet each and debate the course of our future. We are going to have a fun month ahead of us, and I will set to work today to make some moments we remember.

What are some of the major items I want to hit on this month?

-Engaging our foreign affairs and determining our role in a post-CoT world. I know people are wary of our situation, and many want us to have a clear foreign policy that protects our interests and our close allies. I expect this field to be developing throughout the month, and I will seek input from many sources as we chart our new course.

-Reinvigorate our domestic programs. I have already set about implementing our new Department of Human Services, reviving old programs, and changing the scope of Education and Homeland Security. A new new citizen message is already being discussed, and I hope it will be resolved shortly. A new program for Interior will also hopefully be implemented soon, but needs a director. If you are interested in serving your country and supplying players, don’t hesitate to contact me or Arrden to apply.

-Protecting our parties. I pledge to do all I can to keep the current Top 5 intact and strong. We just had our most competitive election in over a year, and that was due to holding all parties in the Top 5. I will work with Homeland Security to keep this spirit alive and our freedom to choose protected. I worked to create LAP, and I intend to see it stay in place along with the other established parties. Homeland Security will be vigilant this month as much as they were the last.

-Be Approachable. I will do my best to stay in touch with citizens, MUs, USAF, congress, allies, enemies, etc. I’m generally easy to talk to and I want to find time for everyone’s needs and concerns. I may not be able to please everyone, but I want to at least reflect the will of the majority as best I can. But please know that I intend to make smart and calculated decisions.

-Media presence . Like Frost before me, I want to maintain media throughout the month. I hope to publish regularly and substantively, keep progress up on the WHPR, and make regular appearances for eNPR. Contact is important, and I know how to keep it up. I look forward to engaging the press in its various forms and mediums.

I am sure throughout the month other goals and concerns will arise, and I will do my best to address each. I recognize that in a closely contested race, I need to consider those who voted for me as well as those who didn’t. All contenders are in my cabinet in some capacity, so each voice will be added to yours during the course of my decisions and actions. I expect to learn a lot in the next few days, and the course of this month. Wish me luck, and keep in touch.
